Does appear Barca are now chasing Seri & Di Maria. Absolutely huge win for LFC if they have successfully held off Barca.
I think that remains to be seen. All depends on Coutinho's head now. You've turned down £125m for a player who is worth around half of that. Huge gamble

You absolutely do not sell world class talent like Coutinho if you can avoid it. We don't need the money.

You probably do if the players heart is set on it. If he accepts the decision then that is ok though. At this point we don't know if it is a good decision or not

Just like Suarez who LFC had to sell like you said right ?
You won **** all and sold him a year later so wasnt too far off the mark.

Funny how some other club fans are more emotionally invested in the whole Coutinho thing than we are

Yet if we actually sold him they'd be talking up how great he is and how he can't be replaced.

I don't see Coutinho as world class.
Not sure if he has ever made the prem team of the season - and when you consider the league isn't flooded with world class talent that says a lot. For me he is on the borderline. Turning down £125m for is pretty insane though

Yeah. We finished 2nd, qualified for CL and sold Suarez for 75m instead of 40m. With a 35m windfall from CL football that was a 70m benefit to keeping Suarez for another season.

Perhaps financial figures are not your forte but even a moron has to say that was a huge win for the club.

You got that one wrong in a massive way.

Yeah mate, so the second biggest transfer saga of the summer isn't worth discussing?

Agree and I dont think Barca will come for him again. You have to be the best in your position to let a chance like this slip. He's not top 10 at his position.

Would've made it easily if he didn't spend 2 and a half months out last season.

Also that figure of £125m is a bit misleading. The base figure is £80m - and the tight bastards want to pay that over 5 years. The fee gets to £125m only if Barca win 2 CL titles in the next 5 years, Coutinho wins Ballon D'or and Barca win 2 La Liga titles. Otherwise we get just £80m. Which is a derisory offer for Coutinho.

Moomba thought Spurs did the wrong thing keeping Modric (who helped them finish 4th), his thought process are just kinda messed up

He won't admit he's wrong on that one and the Suarez one despite it being blatantly obvious he was wrong for both.

I never suggested you should sell him for £40m. In fact I said that I thought the price Liverpool would ask would be too high for Arsenal.

You did well out of keeping him. FSG made some extra cash which they blew on the likes of Lovren, Lambert, Moreno, Markovic and Balotelli. You made the champions league in which you rested players in a failed attempt to make it again.

And the world got to see Stevie Starfish **** up in spectacular style. I'm glad he stayed, was well worth it for that alone.

And you made the champions league, spent over a billion pounds and still haven't won the competition.

Now that is embarrassing.
