LOL at oppo supporters constantly telling us Coutinho isn't worth the money offered and we are stupid not to sell. With Coutinho in the team we are everyone's nightmare

I wouldnt say you're stupid not to sell. I think the prices being talked about are amazing and that you could make two or three quality additions to the squad with the money you'd get for him.

Even though he tends to score against us I'd think you'd be a stronger squad if you sold and re-invested the money in the squad.

Don't think theres any great "get Coutinho out" conspiracy here.

Ok I'll play along, who are the 2 or 3 qualify signings we can make in the next 2 weeks. Bear in mind we have 80mil spread over 5 years to spend

Most transfers are spread over a few years. I'm sure you'll be looking to do the same when you buy regardless of whether Coutinho is sold.

And you've knocked back £80 as I understand. If he goes I expect you'll be guaranteed £100m plus.

As for players, I've mentioned a few. But there are plenty that can improve your squad. For me you're light in midfield and central defence, bug improvememts there if you can strengthen. Doesnt have to be star names either. Coutinho was a sub at Inter when you bought him abd performed from the outset.

Surely you don't think you couldnt strengthen your squad significantly with £100m to spend, especially as it seems you had a fair warchest anyway before the Barca thing happened.

Draxler/Mahrez, Drinkwater/Seri, VVD/???

Liverpool were willing to spend 70m on Keita before the Coutinho situation, so no good reason why 3 of the above couldn't be purchased. Draxler in particular would be cheaper than 1-2 years ago.

I'd take VVD but we've ended our interest in him. The others no thanks

We don't need to sell to buy so why do it? Sure go ahead and sell if we can bring someone in like Mbappe or Lemar but that just isn't happening.

And Barca's offer is a joke. 15.5m a year over 5 years +36m of add ons if they happenj see Barca make far more than that. Utterly laughable in the knowledge they've just banked a £200m pound cheque.

Going to be a massive win for Liverpool if we hold off Barca. I can understand why a City fan would say otherwise - he usually has a fair bit of fun against City :) :)

Draxler is a bit overrated. He's only really had 1 good season.

He's talented but a loose cannon.
Being talented does not discredit being overrated.

Barkley is somewhat seen as an overrated and average player on here. Same age, started top flight football at the same time. Both have 2 seasons 10+ goals+assists in the league. Barkley's being the last two seasons btw.

I don't see how you wouldn't be in an equal or better position with Draxler and Drinkwater replacing Coutinho. Factor in a CB and your squad is much, much better off.

I'd take draxler as an addition to the squad but not a Coutinho replacement. Chelsea can have drinkwater

Wouldnt call it a win. At best you get what you already had. And there is a chance he won't have the same mindset/commitment.

And despite him scoring regularly for us, I hope he stays. Mane is the one in your squad that worries me.

I agree, Drinkwater is clearly a poormans Henderson.

For mine getting VVD + Asensio for example with any Coutinho money would make up for it.

Draxler's a bit of a myth, Mahrez is another wide man and we have two of them that are really good already. Seri is going to Barca precisely because they can't get Coutinho, Drinkwater's another grinder in midfield and we have plenty of those.

We can get VVD without selling Coutinho, so I don't really see any benefit in selling Coutinho and I don't think we will unless Barca pays that 150 mil

Coutinho was a kid at Inter. Understandably, Pool wouldn't want to replace Coutinho with a kid with potential.

Ballbag says the instalment stuff is made up.

He did contribute straight away. But I agree you wouldnt want to rely on a younger unproven player. But alongside two or three of top quality players there would certainly be room for a couple of speculators. With a bit to spare if you add money earmarked for VVD/Keita to Coutinho money.

What foul poison am I reading?

Unless you're offering 100m for both, you can cease all talks on Mahrez and Drinkwater.

Poor Man's Henderson, VVD over our two options? Show me your titles over the last 10 years.

The sooner this window ends, the better. I'm sick and tired of seeing Mahrez/Drinkwater/Gray/Slimani/Musa being on the way out.

It's no fun when you're the one at risk of losing players without any benefits of bringing anyone else in.

I swear moomba is way more invested in Coutinho and talk about it non-stop like far more than most Liverpool fans, it must get him hard
Odd that you're thinking about Moomba getting hard but each to their own I guess.
