I'm just trying to think of an instance where City have profited from a buy > sell since Sept 2008. Can you help me out? I'm being serious, not trying to shit stir or anything.

One spin on it is that all of their successful players have stayed long term, like Zabaleta, Kompany, Aguero etc.

Iheanacho is an obvious one though.

Javi Garcia was one I think. Negredo maybe another in recent years. Adam Johnson but less said about that the better.

Much better with younger/fringe type players. Mooy, Unal, Kelechi have brought in nearly £50m profit this summer.

The thing is, if a player comes in and performs above expectations we're not likely to sell. So the likes of Kompany, Zaba, Yaya, Aguero etc could have made us big profits but we'd rather keep them.

Iheanacho basically came through the youth ranks after leaving Nigeria.

RE long-termers, I can imagine the likes of Sterling, De Bruyne, Stones, Jesus and Sane staying long into the next decade should the project's wheels spin positively into the future.

Yeah, fair points you raise - the investment in your academy is clearly starting to pay dividends. And for all the excessive spending, which at times has been impulsive, you've managed to keep hold of a really solid core for quite some time.

Im torn. On one hand I dont want Barca to sign Dembele purely because **** them. But on the other hand, sign him and maybe not come back for Coutinho in the future. (probably wishful thinking)

Lot of money for Dembele but he does have a lot of talent. Big downgrade from Neymar at this stage though.

A much better fit for Barca than Coutinho imo.

They will probably still come back for Cout to replace Iniesta in midfield as that's where Cout really excels anyways.

Seen a thing on Sancho that he is free to move but as a scholarship holder he needs our permission/release to play for his new club.

We've seen it a few times we're kids sign and just disappear for months.

I reckon if Spurs are only offering a few million and a small sell on/no buyback we might just wait for the tribunal.

Struggle to believe this is true, but who knows given our cluster**** of a football administration.

What kind of position to we put ourselves in negotiating new contracts with Ozil/Sanchez if we pay our backup RWB 180k/week? They'll be asking for half a mill. Just sell the ****er, use the money to buy someone better in an area we actually need it (could get Seri for that much) and move on.

I really do feel sorry for you guys, Wenger is just taking the piss nowadays
I'd pay 70% of Walcott's wages to flog him off + sell Ox to Chelsea if the rumoured fee is true.

Sell both for £50m+ & put this fee towards a bloody CM and put the wages towards Sanchez's increase. Sanchez is a little prick but him on £400k is better than Ox on £180k. Campaigners.

We have signed Nacho's dad:

Claims he's 18, and played together with Nacho.

But seriously... that's our 5th Nigerian. Are we trying to become Nigeria's most popular English team?
