What the actual **** are we doing? FFS.
If the rumours that we might get VVD are true (which is unlikely), Mustafi leaving could make some sense. Bizarre otherwise.
The other two aren't much of a loss though.

2 UK players off the books, not necessarily all good.

Even though I don't think Mustafi has done well so far, I can't imagine why you'd sell him, particularly with who it leaves you with.
Really? I think he's been decent.

Really have no interest in Ox. He's too vanilla. Gives us nothing more than we already get from players like Henderson, Can, Wijnaldum. If we're to buy a CM midfielder, we need to bring in a player who improves our first XI. Keita would have been that guy obviously but not happening now.

I mean even if we buy Ox. Once Lallana and Coutinho are back, he will be very far down the list for games. He has more chance of game time at Arsenal than at Liverpool.

Interesting. I think he can be better than he has been but I guess that remains to be seen.
Interesting? Lol. He was bought as a third choice cb I don't really see why he's expected to be some amazing maguire-esque superstar.

Maguire-esque?

I don't think he was signed as a 3rd choice CB at all.

Lol you've really lost all humor tonight haven't you?

Pool/Chels will be spending £30m+ on a depth player in the last year of his contract.
It's less than Rennes cut of the Dembele money #silverlining
Their record sale fee and you don't even sell a player :D

I find the argument that we need to sell Coutinho to fund reinforcements at CB and CM a bit bizarre.

Steve Nicol is a rampaging alcoholic so he wasn't eloquent enough to articulate it the other night, but we were dropping £60-70m bids down for Keita and Van Dijk at the same time Coutinho was supplying 20+ 2017/18 Liverpool kits to his closest family and friends back in Rio.

At that stage Neymar was staying at Barça and evidently (^^) Coutinho wasn't considering going anywhere. We didn't need to sell him to make those offers then, so logic dictates that we shouldn't need to now.

We've spent ~£33m net this summer, and look likely to pocket close to £30m for Sakho before the window closes, bringing us close to zero net spend. If we sell Coutinho, it's because we see absolutely no way for him to reintegrate and contribute in a meaningful way this season, not because we need the money in order to finance reinforcements to the 2 key areas that for me would facilitate a title challenge and a competitive showing in Europe for us in the next 12 months.

Third choice? Don't think Arsenal would have spent that much on a backup. He was meant to be the main partner for Kos now that Mertesacker can barely move. Holding and Mertesacker the backups imo

Some talk Arsenal would rather sell Ox to us than Pool as they see us as less of a competitor for a lower top 4 spot and Ox would improve Pool to much.

With Sanches sitting out Pool should be all over him instead. Would be a cracking signing.

Hahaha that sounds like utter nonsense. If Arsenal sell the ox it will be to the highest bidder. Chelsea need him more than LFC do, suspect he goes to Chelsea if he joins a PL club.

FWIW id Love to see Draxler on a long term loan with a 30m or so future fee. We need depth more than ability, as Phillip and Pulisic are absolutely lighting up at the moment. But Draxler would be a really safe option.

Really not unhappy about dembele leaving. Although it’s only been two games, we are a lot less reliant on one player and our team play is far more advanced so far. I’d be tempted to cut our losses with Schurrle and bank that cash for another time
