Never understood why people care what league is better?

I couldn't give a toss if the premier league is the worst in the world. It's the one that appeals to me most.

I only crack the shits when people like WR and others on this board try and say "PL>all" and act as if it's not in England it doesn't matter. My favourite leagues are the Championship and Serie A but you don't see me saying either are the best leagues out there.

I don't think there is a "best" league because they all have pros and cons and in the end everyone will always have different tastes. Just stop shitting on everything else ffs. Believe me I get ****ed off with La Liga fans for this same reason so it's not like I have some hard on for attacking PL fans.

Why are you twisting it? All I said was it's the most popular, which I don't think is even a contentious thing to say. Clearly, the worlds best players are still moving to Madrid, Barca and PSG though

That has nothing to do with it. We are talking about popularity, and the prem shits on those leagues in that respect. Pretty sure EPL clubs will start winning in Europe again soon (in fact Utd just did I believe). The two spainish giants, PSG and perhaps Bayern and the leading Italian club will always be obstacles though.

Claiming utd just won Europe is like claiming that the 12yo dortmund kid banging in 5 goals a game is actually 12

Calling the Premier League the most competitive top league might be better than calling it the best league.

Yes, English clubs haven't been competitive in the CL in recent years but this is a discussion about league football. And with that, who has been able to challenge PSG (Monaco for one season and then they got raided. They won't come close again), Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus?

The PL is the most competitive league because any one of Chelsea, United, City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs could win it or come very close in any given year and are regularly interchangeable. You won't see one team winning 5 (or even 3) straight league titles than the other top leagues. Leicester City did something the other leagues can only dream of. Our top clubs in England drop more points against the teams placed 7-20th than in any other league, so it's very competitive outside of the top 6.

Why aren't English teams as competitive in the CL since the PL is this competitive? Because Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG, Juventus Bayern Munich all have better squads than anyone in England. It doesn't make the PL the best league or most watchable though, that I can agree with. What it is is the most interesting.

PL > every other shit league

Do people really watch the Bayernliga and Serie A? What a waste of time. Most predictable boring one team leagues with shit depth and an uneven distribution of quality. Would rather watch paint dry.

PL is superior to all. Big league, big money, big managers, big clubs, big history, big crowds, competitiveness and quality spread throughout every team. It's the most popular league in the world for a reason.

Every other minnow league could join together and create a mainland Europe league and there would still be more people watching the EPL. That's how irrelevant and crap those leagues are. Those sides focus on CL so much because their leagues get so boring.

I can’t even be bothered going through this rubbish, but:

PL is shit for spectators. Expensive tickets, shit atmosphere, no standing etc etc

Last season England was the SECOND largest average attendance league. Second to, drum roll, germany. By 7k per game.

Big history? Forgot that some german clubs have been around since 1840s , haven’t received a cent of oil money and are still relevant. Forgot about Lazio/Roma/Milan etc.

Next time you go to a 2.Bundesliga game for €10, stand with 35,000 others and buy beers for €3, tell me again how german football is shit.

The English can spend all they want, they still can’t be the best teams in Europe.

The England team can’t win a World Cup cos they don’t have any good English players playing in their own country

The English can’t even ****ing manage to have standing zones in their stadiums. For ****s sake, it’s that ****ing simple.

Backwards money driven league played by a few rich kids and English farmers boosting long balls all day down the pitch and throwing down two footed tackles. Most boring, stop start games of football I’ve ever seen. Hopefully won’t play in champions league once that shithole of a country leaves Europe for good.

Did I mention you can’t stand at an English ground, nor get a 3€ beer?

The atmosphere at 95% of PL games is fantastic. Just don't go to the emirates ever of etihad during ucl.

You should know why authorities are reluctant to reintroduce standing areas at football games.

Too many pissheads here for beers to be that cheap unfortunately.

The tickets are expensive due to ridiculous demand from spectators. Every week, 18/20 PL grounds are full.

The UCL may as well fold if English teams can't enter post brexit and that is exactly what would happen. It's not as if Bayern and BVB have been dominant recently and won't be this season with Arsenal in Europa.

Oh and championship/ league 1 tickets and beer are v cheap.

Are they taking the English teams out of the Champions League when Brexit happens? First I have heard of it.
