My spurs mates over here reckon Rose was pretty casual with his rehab, came back overweight and has an attitude problem now.

For all the shit people give Jesse Messi he's good as your 20th player, just not in your first XI. All teams need depth, particularly Spurs. Not sure whether he'd take a paycut to leave United and move to London given he's a manc. It's not like Poch is going to guarantee him more game time.
Certainly had a case of the Motlop's. That's a nice pirelli.

Depth is nice and if he can get good football out of Sissoko then there's hope for all players. Just don't think he's one to pursue.

What a compliment.

"If an injury crisis completely ravages the club then he's a good option".
Well this happens to most clubs most seasons. Are you going to play your first XI for 50+ games every season or rotate? A clubs 20th best player is in the second XI which plays about 20 full games a season and comes off the bench.

Basically, a club's 20th best player is the one who comes on 10 seconds before the final whistle

Warrington is as much Merseyside as Manchester.

For us I think we'll be looking for a front 3 player, DM, CB and LB if we don't buy one in January.

Only solid names being linked are all free. Alexis, Can, Ghoulam. Would leave money available for a top CB and DM.

you know what I mean mate. does he want to move south away from friends and family and his boyhood club
If United wanted rid and Spurs were interested I can't see a better club for him.

Yeah Rose has done a shaw and hasn't rehabbed well is what I heard too.

I said in the summer we should cash in on him and reinvest the money into Ryan Sessengon. He'd get enough games and would eventually pass Davies.

Not sold on shaw ever getting back to his best. Hard to turn attitude to training back around to rediscover what he had.

Also on Rose. He didn't have a knee reco but took nearly 10 months off injured and has struggled I think since coming back. Unless he shows some form by March I don't think we'll even get any offers for him & if we do we should take the money and run

Would of course welcome him with open arms, but moving to the Ems would be the worst thing for Nabil Fekir's career. A deep pit of regression and broken promises, is modern-day Arsenal under Wenger's rule.

Shaw is definitely a risk but has a lot of talent and is still just a kid.

He might not have the best attitude to training and diet but that can sometimes come as you mature and decide how you want your life to pan out.

Would Levy be prepared to pay Bale's wages and meet Real's transfer valuation?

Bale is going on 29 and is injury prone. Plenty of rumours they want to sell but you' think it would be a fee in the 60-70m region. Apparently Bale has a 75m buyout fee but that would be a stretch too far for Levy.

IMO only City & Utd can meet the demands of both Bale & RM.
Given Levy's history you would assume he wouldn't, however there are a few small rumours around regarding two things that might indicate a change in philosophy from him in this regard.

The first is that he has realised the environment around transfers has changed significantly in the last 12 months and like in any other business environment you have to adapt or die. There were some raised eyebrows when he smashed the club transfer record and shelled out 40m+ for Davinson Sanchez considering we already had the best central defensive combination in the league. Apparently this was all down to Pochettino who was desperate to get him and may indicate that Levy recognises the changing landscape of transfers and is willing to back his manager in the market. Also as part of this the word is that he is well aware the players have been patient in regards to wages while the new stadium is built but this has to change from next year onwards. From what various people have said, apparently the players aren't demanding parity with the likes of United, City, Chelsea etc but expect to see the wage cap rise and new contracts offered with the increased revenue from the gate receipts and naming rights. Obviously the proof of this will be in the pudding, but apparently this patience, but also the expectation, is across the board and almost unanimous in the squad. In fact, it's supposed to be the reason why so many of the squad were frustrated with Danny Rose when he gave that interview with The Sun as it had been a point of discussion before and something that was thought to be understood by them all, led by Lloris and Kane.

Sorry, I went off on a small tangent there, but the second small whisper regarding your post is that Levy wants a marquee signing for the opening of the stadium and to maximise the naming rights and the player that is at the top of his wish list in this respect is Bale.

Who knows whether it would happen. Personally, if Real Madrid decide to sell him I'm of the opinion that we would have less chance of seeing him at Spurs than at United or Chelsea. But there are a few things that point to it being actually possible, I mean I don't think we would have bothered putting in that first refusal clause in the transfer if we didn't think it was possible at some stage. There might also be part of the original fee that is still owed by Madrid which would make it easier but I'm not sure about that.

If nothing else it allows one to dream of seeing our best player of the Premier League era (although Kane might have overtaken that now) back at the club. :p

Haha sorry, but I just wanted to quote your post to express my love for the post from jd. This was Kane's team/squad/club from the moment he broke through into the first team with no greater evidence than that exchange. I love that story so much. It was the start of the Pochettino period in earnest imo. Well, that and the Aston Villa game.

Jesse Lingard is shit. I'd pay a team to take him.
Moyes will have him. He loved Jesse when he was there. Maybe he could break the record for the number of failed crosses in a game again.

That game was one of the funniest I've ever seen.

Sadly he seems to be well liked by Mou. He isn't a horrible player, just isn't good enough for a top side, would be good for a mid-table club.

anyone who pays big money now for bale are mad.

clearly a very good footballer but not too far off 30 now, and continual muscle injuries are really the worst for wingers.

Can see him going to Utd.

Jack Wilshire supposedly set on moving to Real Betis next year. With the style they play under Setien and the players he could have around him, it'd be a really interesting move for Jack if he went through with it.

That and playing for the 6th biggest club in Spain would be alright too.
