True. Took about 48 months of playing well before many on here clued on to Rose and Walker not being average.
I still think Walker sucks.

Nobody on here will ever rate Moreno. Once a player has a reputation on BF, it will not change despite the fact Moreno has been very good this season.

My feeling is he is always one step away from disaster, it's the way he defends. Also that he is very poor at stopping crosses from coming in his side

Atm he is doing well by not being a calamity but we can do better. It's like Mig and Lovren, they have their patches where they are decent but you know they'll revert to type

Being not as shit as usual doesn't equal having a good season.

But on the topic of changed perceptions of a player Otamendi is having a bloody good season so far.

Yep and Moreno only has 4-5 months so far. So needs another 40 odd before anyone will concede that he isnt a potato.

Im not bothered though, he's having a pretty good season for us and has completely turned around his Liverpool career which I thought was dead and buried. It's a credit to him.

Oh yeah, im not claiming he is LB of the season or anything. But he is having a good season so far. Complete turnaround from the potato he was. I dont think you can say he will revert to type though. Migs is 29 and Lovren is 28, they are who they are, I dont think they will ever be vastly different footballers than they are now. Moreno is 25, I still think under Klopp he has the ability to turn it around but it's right now. He either continues this form and becomes reliable or sometime in the next 12 or so months, he gonna revert back to being a potato and then you know that that is it. He's just a potato.

At the start of this season I wonder how many would have predicted that a back four containing mainly Delph, Stones, Otamendi and Kyle Walker (playing the style of game we do) would be one of the best performing in the league.

Not me that's for sure.

Lol he has not been "very good" this season.

You don't watch Liverpool very much. Apart from the second half against Sevilla he's been very good. There's a reason Robertson can barely get a look in.

Don't I?

As moomba said, just because he now isn't a calamity doesn't mean he's actively been good.

Is there a reason? Most Liverpool supporters are utterly confused because Robertson plays well whenever he plays.

I’m more impressed with what Conte did with Moses, Alonso, Cahill and Luiz

Moreno on squawka has no defensive errors. Shows how unreliable that stat is he was awful against Seville

2nd half only. Otherwise probably our best defender in the group stages. Very happy with him atm.

How many goals has been at fault for all season? I can think of two in the Sevilla game. I'm sure my Liverpool mates have roasted more than just that one game.

A defender at fault for more than 5 goals before Xmas hasn't been good. Even if that is down from 8-10 prior years.

Can't think of many goals at all. Won the most tackles on the pitch vs Chelsea for example. Definitely performing very well this season. Had to really with Robertson being signed.

Looking into it only really 3 poor games all season. Us, Sevilla and man city.

According to whoscored. Those three games 6.3 or below. The rest have been good so he may be doing a walker/rose and turning it around

Moreno wasn't at fault for anything vs Spurs. All Lovren / Mignolet.

How about the pens he's given away?

Still played poorly. In fairness to him every play did

Only Mignolet & Lovren had shockers that game. IIRC we had more possession and more shots on goal. That loss was down to 2 shockers by Mignolet / Lovren.

Weren't the goals down to Kane being able to completely tear apart your left hand side? Remind me who plays there..?

Nope. Lovren had a mare for both of the first 2 goals. Mignolet gave away the 4th with a poor punch.
