Wolves are the biggest threat to the top 4-5 in a long time.

Leicester weren't able to sustain that, but I can see them getting up to the 'Pool, Tottenham level in the not too distant future.

Definately up to the Europa spots very quickly.

Mendes had that kind of pull when they were mid table championship, who's he going to bring in when they are actually in the prem or even Europe?

He's publicly an "associate" of the club, as he's best friends of the current owners, agents aren't allowed official involvement in clubs, but he more than likely is probably a silent part owner, or he gets a % of revenue etc.

If that is the case, it's in his best interests to be funnelling players on the cheap onto the books at Wolves, at the end of the day it's directly into his back pocket, not only that, it's compounding, the better the club gets the more it's worth, greater revenue etc.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Mourinho ended up there after Utd depending on the timing or Ronaldo finished his career there if they can establish themselves before that point comes.
Woah woah woah. Hold it right there.

Even in our current state, we're best of the of the rest (just you wait, Burnley), and many of our goals have CL places tied to them as carrots. (Even then, we like to cause trouble for the bigger clubs)

Our owners are not going to rest until we become regular CL contenders, and even then, that's not going to rest until further glory is pushed.

I'd say wait until they get up there, because I can tell you that if anyone wants to have a fight into breaking into the big boys club first, we will be ready for it. (As noted, I would love a good slog with Wolves, especially for Best of the Midlands, and if it means fighting for Europe).

I'm prepared to bookmark something like this.

There's been plenty of rich owners come into the league and fail.

There isn't a club in the world that I can think of that has associated themselves with an agent like Wolves had, considering the calibre of players they already have managed to get across to the 2nd division, if Mendes is still involved next year, expect fireworks come the next couple of transfer windows.

Alot of the players they have brought in are good enough for say a Braga or Sporting CP, but they are mainly all young and raw still, I doubt theyll be able to hit it off like say Leipzig or Monaco straight up, give it a few years

I don't think they will do it next year, im talking a 3-4 year window here.

I expect them to finish inside of the top 10 next year.

They've already had a year adapting to England though.

The difference being, Wolves will be walking into the prem with a group of young guns that were at the top of most major CL clubs wishlists in the last 2 years.

They're bringing a far different gulf of talent up with them.

Neves would of been in most top 5 U/20 lists in the world, and still would be.
While I agree they have room for growth, buying kids with potential doesnt always = success, see Southampton for example constantly having to replace

I think one thing we need to keep in mind is how quick the jump is. Monaco are a well established team, and RB Lepzig doesn't exactly have a lot stopping them in a very even league.

Crossing the 5th/6th gap is the big one. Weirdly speaking, on our current goal record, if we can reduce the amount of set pieces goals, Leicester actually fits the mould of a Top 6 team of yesteryear. It would take a few years of good fighting, without any loss of dignity of selling players to top English teams, that will transform a midtable club to a top tier club. Not even Man City were World Beaters on Day 1, and Tottenham had to really keep at it to earn their spot.

Wolves will be the same case. They will join us, it's just a matter of who can cross the gap fastest. Can their players resist the urge to fast track upwards? Develop a reputation as a selling club like Soton, and it doesn't matter how well Wolves do. They'll peak out.

Calibre is one thing, but don't forget seeing how they all fit. That can just be the difference in turning draws into wins, key in this league against the Bottom 14.

If the Wolves start their mind games in the PL, expect the Leicesters, Evertons, and even West Hams to follow suit and push like hell. We don't like fellow rivals that think they can come in with their big names and all that. We can just as easily do the same.

i would also not be surprised if guys like neves have some of their rights shadily sold off to companies and whatnot to help bring the price down. something not allowed in england (mangala, luiz had their prices inflated because of this) but i dont think it totally gone in portugal.

Who follows Ligue 1 (or pretends to)? What’s the go with Verratti? Heard he has turned to shit this season and isn’t a guaranteed starter?

So, Arsenal saw Liverpool trying to destroy their top 4 prospects by selling Coutinho and raised the bar by imminently selling Alexis Sanchez? Well, damn...

And Valencia have signed Coquelin for 12M according to the Telegraph.

Beginning of an exodus?
More the beginning of a rebuild by getting rid of dead weight. He's a player we should have let go a long time ago, hopefully Walcott, Elneny, Debuchy, Ospina are to follow.

Sounds like Diafra Sakho to Crystal Palace is gaining momentum.

Fee sounds like it'll be 10M with 5M in add-ons potentially.
How many bloody Sakho/Sako's do they need? :D

Just on Wolves:

A) I didn't think much of Fosun when they first came in but when you see their numbers, their finances are ******* huge. They invest in a lot of different ventures so they'll always have money to spend.

B) Fosun see Wolves as a top 5 club in England and with their marketing potential (especially in Asia/China), the sky is the limit for them. Add in their massive, preexisting >fan base< and >actual< history and you've got the makings of a new super club in English football.

C) Mendes being at Wolves has been problematic (see; Paul Lambert) but he's been a lot more helpful since the summer. The players he's brought in are to actually improve the side and along with being best friends with guys like Jeff Shi, he actually likes the project at Wolves and wants to see them reach the UCL. No doubt he's got something on the side happening but from all reports he's actually doing what he's doing with legitimately good intentions.

D) Wolves also have a Tier 1 Academy and are producing some of the best talent in England (Morgan Gibbs-White). Guys like Dom Iorfa and Kourtney House could be PL regulars for them too and Bright Enkhobare is a special talent. Also have Harry Burgoyne and John Rudd to replace Ruddy between the sticks. Fosun don't just want to spend shit loads on Mendes clients, they want to be sustainable long term and want to have a homegrown side.

E) I think Wolves will be a CL contender but next year will be a teething year for them. If they keep Jota and upgrade Leo (their striker) along with getting some upgrades in defence (Ryan Bennett is still a shit truck and I don't rate Barry Douglas) then top 10 is manageable for them.

When Wolves come up, they're there to stay.
