I don't know with Fabregas
We have brought Barkley in which means RLC gets loaned for next year
We have Drinkwater and Bakayoko who are additions to our squad, the latter being unimpressive

I'd actually advocate for starting with a Kante-Fabregas midfield with a front three of Morata-Hazard-Willian/Pedro
That midfield pairing has a fantastic win rate against most teams in both 17/18 and 16/17

It's just people talk about Cesc being defensively poor despite him tracking back and recording a decent tackle rate
His passing is insane, if our attackers had have scored half of the chances from Cesc they would be up there with Kane and Salah in terms of goals, in talking about you Morata. Yes he does get bullied physically but Cesc offers so much to this Chelsea team and he and hazard are our lone conductors for creativity and attacking play.

I don't know how long he has left in him though. He is on 160K a week and getting rid of him would release wages. But he has fought his way back into the Chelsea side and when everyone thought his career was dead, he resurrected it spectacularly. He i think was one of the underrated players of 16/17 with his output in the second half of the year being sublime.

He's a valuable commodity and there are few like Cesc. Teams like United and Arsenal would die to have Cesc in their team, still at his age, because of what he offers going forward. Every time I doubt him he puts any doubt I have away. Which quality teams in Europe outside of England would want Cesc and would give him regular football. He isn't going to return to the national setup, thought admittedly Saul, Iniesta (He's finished), Illara, Koke (Questionable) and Herrera are definitely not better than him (Silva, Busquets, Thiago) are better so he should really be in their squad.

We can't build our squad around him though. He is going into his 30s and admittedly a Cesc, Pirlo type players are rare breeds (Paredas from Roma and sort of Verrati from PSG) . We must be equipped to properly deal with Fabregas's departure so the debate remains

If we continue with a midfield three Kante and Fabregas pick themselves meaning Barkley, Drinkwater or Bakayoko battle for the third. If Baka reverts to his Monaco form which I anticipate he will, Baka needs work on control, passing and shooting, then we will have a very competent midfield three, drinky and Barkley are just really rotation players. If we must use Baka at this stage then I'd have him shielding the back 3, it's an easy role and he did that at Monaco. Build up his confidence Stage by stage and then unleash him. This midfield three obliterated Athletico Madrid and Man United while it held its nerve against City, Liverpool and Arsenal. If we do transition back to the 4-3-3 which conte wants to play with but the squad is incapable thus far, then we could have a dynamic and threatening midfield coupled with the experienced playmaker Cesc at our disposal. But we must prepare for life after Fabregas and that starts now.

chef if hazard keeps stalling on this contract I'd say we send a message to him by dropping him
Nobody is bigger than the club and his last few performances have been disgraceful
His head seems to be turned by the speculation and he seems disinterested
We'll take him off your hands if you want. UEFA World XI to disgraceful in 12 months. Get rid I say.

Saul and Koke are most definitely better than Fabregas.

illarramendi offers what busquets does pretty much, just at a lower level. iniesta is still excellent when he plays in midfield. silva is basically a centre mid these days. koke, saul, thiago are the guys to take the reigns next. isco can play through the middle as well. there's just other players that offer at least what fabregas does for spain, but others who give more.

guy has two euros and a world cup. i doubt he's upset honestly.

Koke maybe, Saul is a kid still, would prefer Cesc there
It'll be good to see him in the PL. Was unlucky to be injured when he was with us, and then made a good decision to go seek regular football instead of being just a bench option at Spurs.

I know he was rated really highly by youth watchers at Spurs, like Windy and so on, so it will be interesting to see how he goes with regular time in the PL.
Windy, the voice of reason :$ just like Spooky

Nobody offers what Cesc does, creativity and outrageous passing. He shouldn't be starting for Spain that's a given, mind you neither should iniesta any more. Cesc would be suited to the role of an impact sub as teams tire and he unpicks opposition defence

Iniesta does and you cant play him and cesc in midfield because they both dont have the legs

Umm no. He's still got over 2 years left on his deal and even if he doesn't sign before the end of the season we don't have to sell him. He was pretty good away to Arsenal and should have given Morata a couple of assists.

We should be looking to add another talent like him to the RW to take some of the pressure off him and to show some ambition. This 352 bullshit we have been playing is such a boring/scared/safe way to play, especially with the type of guys we play in the mid 3. If Willian and Pedro aren't good enough then sell them and buy someone who is.

Just on Cout.

Cant believe we have sold him. Makes zero sense. I've read it was Klopp's call as whether he can go or not and that he was sick of Cout and his bullshit to get his move which is fair enough.

Nobody is bigger than the club.

We did get a fantastic price for him.

But we are undoubtedly weaker for having sold him as he is a fantastic player and it puts our top four and CL aspirations right in the shitter. No chance we can find an adequate replacement in January.

In closing. The whole thing sucks and I'm sick of consistently selling our best players to Real and Barca.
I am an Aston Villa fan and I am sick of selling our best players to Man Utd Man City and Liverpool. It’s not fair. Our chances at our second European Cup title are right in the shitter.

Sounds incredibly similar to us and Sanchez. Our best player and is frustrated with playing with lesser players around him. If we had real ambition we would look to support him and Ozil with other class players rather than be happy with our mediocrity and play the "we can't compete with Man City" card.

Manchester United, Juventus,
Numerous media reporting United have put in a £25m bid for Sanchez. I’d say our chances of actually getting him are very slim though as he appears destined for City

City bound definitely, wouldn’t be surprised if a deal has been done in principle l.
