Out first signing in 18 months looks to be getting closer and closer.

One of the best finishers you've seen? Wow.

I’ll stand by that. His body let him down restricting his ability to get into those positions but I’d say put him in sight of goal and his range, accuracy, power, composure, inventiveness stands up against anyone I’ve seen.

At his peak when his body held up he was unstoppable.

Sturridge is the best finisher we’ve had since Fowler. What a player he was when he was flying.

There’ll always be the “what could have been” with Sturridge, but what we had was pretty darn good anyway. One of our best players of the last decade.
Where does Owen fit in that list?

Ha.

But in all seriousness though?
Owen was a great striker but wasn't in the same class as far as a finisher goes as Fowler, Strurridge and Torres imo

We’ve been lucky with strikers, they’re hard to separate. Point being when it comes to finishing, Sturridge was every bit as good as any of them.

Like Fowler and Owen, he was just a natural at it.
Torres and Suarez were great finishers too but they had other parts of their game which made them special.

I read some news about a certain left back possibly signing for Arsenal on a free, It was "reported" by the mirror so hopefully for your sake it's not true.

spurs should try and get either asensio or isco out of it, if it is madrid.
He names Madrid in the interview apparently, but admits there has been no contact recently. I suspect he's had his head turned a few months ago, and that's contributed to his drop in form in the latter part of this season, but then with everything else going on at Madrid atm, they've got other priorities before they get to Eriksen. He said too that he would be willing to sign a new deal if it doesn't happen, but honestly, I'm not sure that would be the best outcome considering he's already made it clear he wants to leave.

Apparently also we inquired about Asensio a couple of weeks ago, but were quoted his buyout fee of something stupid like 700m. Obviously that's not happening. We've been interested in Isco before, but he declined apparently, but maybe he'll be interested now we could probably offer him more money and a better team than when we last asked.

Honestly though, I've just got a funny feeling, and it's been talked about a lot elsewhere, that this might not be the only business we do with Madrid given that there's a former much loved Spurs player on their books atm who has clearly been told to leave and, apparently, may have made it known that he'd be open to returning if it could be sorted for all parties financially.
