So why don't Arsenal nuffies stop their wild celebrations over comparing these players as snubbing us then?

I'm not fussed over Saliba, imo we would've pushed there if Toby left, but Toby hasn't left yet so it seems he's not needed

With Ceballos we didn't agree to be Madrid's loan bitch, you guys did.
I'll happily be 'Madrid's loan bitch' if it helps us get back to CL football.

To be fair if Tottenham got Saliba instead you don't think Spurs fans would have been going on about 'gazumping' Arsenal's transfer?

What about the Spurs fans celebrating Kane chipping Arsenals former keeper and talking s**t to Arsenal fans.

Spurs fans celebrating a Spurs goal? Oh my.

Cruyffy, I just enjoy calling these things out

You know my position on this, banter and all
Wouldn't really call it banter, it's just unnecessary crap.

Who cares what dicks on Twitter say, surely some Spurs fans have probably said junk too that's made you all look like flogs.

Can't tar everyone with the same brush.

Back to the transfers...

Ceballos and Saliba look like good deals for Arsenal for different reasons, but they also both have problems for different reasons too.

Ceballos has apparently made it known that he didn't want to sign anywhere permanently, so while it could be a good signing for them for this season because he does look an excellent player, it doesn't help long-term. And even in that, I mean, how motivated would you be when things get tough to really dig in if you know you have no skin in the game in regards to how they go beyond next season? If he helps them qualify for CL, then obviously it's well worth it, but there are potential issues there.

And then the Saliba problem is the complete opposite. I think most people would agree that they're in urgent need of a CB in the immediate short-term. It's all well and good getting a really good prospect, but he's taking up a large chunk of their reported budget and he won't even be there when they need him most.

It's an interesting strategy, and with time still left in the window, it will be interesting to see how these two signings fit into their overall business.

Yeah, I'm not sure why you'd pay too much attention to the cesspool that is twitter.

Seem both Spurs and Arsenal are getting some good signings done, plus United too. We look likely to drop behind those three.

Its been a while :D

Chelsea are the toughest team to assess for the upcoming season. So many unknowns. How are the youth who will be introduced go? Where are the goals going to come from? How will Lampard adapt? Not convinced you'll be that far behind the other three that will make up positions 3-6. You'll be in the mix.

Wow man, that's really a supreme melt. If you weren't talking about him you were talking about me and you already had a dip last night.

FWIW I couldn't give a flying **** about a Spurs/Gunners rivalry... it's not our rivalry as we live in Australia and as a longterm Arsenal fan in Australia I've never really seen any cause to be threatened by Tottenham in the long run except for losing the odd league game.

It's a huuuuge response to a light hearted tickle on Doctor Gero (whom I didn't just meet today). I hope you aren't taking this all seriously.

The Spurs-Chelsea rivalry is significantly more lively these days.

Lo Celso to Spurs for 45m.

Good business for Levy after an ordinary Copa America.

How long until Arsenal fans refer to him as LOL Celso....?

All good man. Nothing wrong with a bit of levity.

Did lol at Ornstein stating it was a big week for the gooners when one is a loan in and one a loan out ;)

Decent signings though given the tightened purse strings

Lo Celso not included in Betis' squad to travel to Mexico, despite apparently reporting back to training already. Lot of reports saying we've agreed a fee for 50-60m euros. Too much smoke around this now to think it's not close.

Fair play to Daniel Levy if this does go through in dropping the best part of 120m on the weakest area of our squad.

Lol

It's been dormant for 3 years mate

Umm I'm talking off field/poisonous atmosphere etc (my speciality).

Chelsea v Spurs has the most venom of any of the London prem derbies.

Obvio Spuz v Arsenal is good, but it's a bit of a Sunday kick around these days.

Note: I support neither club so can be neutral, much better atmosphere at spuz.
