How does it not make sense? You have won 5 trophies of how many available - it's pretty obvious.
Oh I dont know... you want me to work out percentages. You just said we'd won **** all in the last 20 years and I corrected you. That's all.

I can do Everton if you want. In the past 20 years Everton has won ...

Zero.

Zero trophies.

:moustache:

I think there is a gap in the top six. Arsenal, United, City and Chelsea can attract top talent and have done so in the past. Arsenal surprisingly manage to bring in blokes like Sanchez, Ozil and Aubameyang. Chelsea, United and City have always bought from the top shelf. Arsenal owe much to being the top dog in a major city and drawcard, London.

Then there is Liverpool and Spurs. Neither attract the big names. Spurs recent ascension has come through youth prospects like Kane coming through and shrew purchases like Alder, Eriksen, Alli and of course employing a top class manager. Liverpool operate in much the same way.

Spurs are well known for not paying massive wages and breaking their structure so I dont think they could or would offer Dybala huge money.

When Arsenal signed those players they were champions league regulars, that’s the main reason they were able to get those kinds of players and we weren’t. They were better than us.

Just like they wouldn’t be able to sign the likes of Van Dijk and Alisson while we did, they aren’t particularly strong at the moment and aren’t in the champions league, where as we are currently one of the best teams around and therefore an attractive proposition to top players.

Which is fair enough but I still dont think we would be able to bring in a player like Dybala. We just dont shop from the top shelf. Alisson is the closest to a world class signing that we have brought in. VVD wasnt considering the best defender in world football when we bought him.

I find myself skimming a lot more of Jodly these days.

Glad that Alderweireld's clause has expired. Should mean he stays now.

Should mean that Woody now bids for him.

You don’t shop from the top shelf because you choose not to, doesn’t mean some of the top tier talent wouldn’t come.

You may well be right about Dybala rejecting us - or the whole thing may be paper talk. I think if we do table a £70m+ bid for him though then there’s a possibility he comes. I don’t think he’s out of our range now, he’s probably right at the limit. Even a couple of years ago he was beyond us but that was before we were regular CL qualifiers and couldn’t go beyond £200kp/w wage. Anyway let’s wait and see what happens

De Rossi has joined Boca Juniors.
Leroy Fer has signed for Feyenoord.
Micah Richards has announced his retirement.
SkySports saying that Evertons bid for Zaha will be 60mil.

Kinda I guess. But Juve guarantees at least Serie A every year. Then the domestic cup and the CL. When did Spurs last win a trophy? How many trophies have Juve won since Spurs won their last one.

No disrespect at all, Spurs have certainly moved up the pecking order in the last 10 years or so. But they are not top level. I just can't see Dybala taking the step down. I think the rumour is rubbish. But hey if he signs... What a great signing for Spurs!

For context and to confirm whether this rabbit hole is worth going down...would Dybala moving to Liverpool be a step down ?

EDIT: I see you confirmed that you don’t think he’d got to Liverpool. Fair enough

I think your wrong on both counts, the draw of the premier league alone gives Spurs/Liverpool an advantage. In terms of squads and if they played in the same completion , I’m not sure there would be much between the teams either.

Sounds like Patrick Cutrone may be on his way to Wolves but we are trying to hijack the deal at the last minute.

If we could sign him and flog off Chicarito, that'd be a definite upgrade.

Fee around 20M or so being mentioned as the price.

I can actually see Ed Woodward outdoing himself with a £60M bid in the coming days.

Not sure how much truth to it there is, but SSN are reporting that Juventus have entered the race for Lukaku, and are willing to offer Dybala as part of the deal.

United, do that deal ASAP!!

Bale's going to get 1M quid at week at Jiangsu by the sounds of it.

The guy can stop earning any money for the rest of his life and still live very comfortably and have his exact same lifestyle with what he he has in the bank today. Zidane doesn’t want him so Bale is going to rage quit right out of Europe because no one is matching his pay lol.

Outside of the Mhki/Alexis swap, do swap deals even happen that often in football?
