Says a lot about a player when he leaves a club and said club becomes stronger without him.

This. Liverpool turned into a much better side without Coutinho.

Selling Coutinho and buying VVD turned Liverpool into a totally different team. Then buying Alisson 6 months later with the spare change stepped things up another level again.

Losing Coutinho was the best thing that has happened to Liverpool in a long time.

He didn't fit the system which they operate in. He isn't well rounded enough to play as a CM. And not quick enough to be in the attacking 3. Still a quality AM and one that I'd be happy enough to replace Eriksen with, along with one of Dybala, Lo Celso or Fernandes. I think he'd be the safer option of the 4 and gives them a year to settle into London

Firmino is not a striker. A striker actually scores goals

In the last two seasons he has scored 43 goals in 102 games. It's not a horrible return for a forward when he has two players either side who have scored more.
Those numbers are also considerably better than Coutinho.

His role isn't just to score goals. Firmino and Mo often switch roles as we saw last season on a number of occasions and Mo plays centrally. We don't really need a 'striker' so to speak because our front 3 score just as many goals as most other strikers in the PL.

Lel, it's either that or "30 celebs you didn't know were gay"

Yeah, those ones are ridiculous. It’s like I can’t even name 30 celebrities without really really thinking about it.

And after that comes “people who look like things”.

I’d still be very surprised if Dybala ended up at Spurs. The backlash from Juve fans would be huge
I said from the time this link emerged that I'd be shocked if it happens. But that news about us agreeing a 70m euro fee is from a very good source for Juve, is it not?

Spurs aren’t signing all 3 of Dybala, Fernandes and Coutinho.

1 of those 3, maybe.
Agree and they'll probably only sign one if Eriksen is sold first.
Yeah, agreed, even though we absolutely need one of them regardless of what happens with Eriksen.

Although with the Lo Celso deal, that was said to be unrelated to Eriksen, but who knows. It's going to be a ****ing hectic couple of days for a number of different clubs. I almost envy you chef. At least there's no uncertainty with you lot.

Probably would want to make the signing first (knowing that Eriksen is being sold).
They've had a bid accepted for Dybala which means Eriksen being sold isn't related.

I am a bit jealous, I loved the rumours and stuff this time of years. It's not as much fun just looking on haha.

But even know with copped a ban, it's not as bad as it could have been I guess. Still being able to add Kovacic permanently and able to recall Pulisic, Zouma, Tammy, Mount and James. It could have been oh so much worse.

Surely it's exciting in a way because you'll finally get to see the kids have a crack?

Conte still went to Inter, still copped it from fans

I agree it's unlikely too, but not moving because of fans backlash is a garbage reason, it's either football reasons or money players move for

I didn’t mean it to read like that.
There would be huge backlash but that wouldn’t be the reason he wasn’t moved on.

How long left in the window? 1 day and 15 hours or something like that?

5:00pm on Thursday 8th August for Premier Leagues and Championship clubs. So that would be Friday 2AM Melbourne times.

League 1 & 2, France, Spain, Scotland and Germany shut on September 2nd. Italy is August 23rd.
