It depends on the terms of the clause. Most of them can't be activated mid season.

It's usually the norm. Bournemouth would be better off continuing to loan him if they had absolutely no say over his future.

barely any big deals happen in jan these days anyways. and a lot of buy back clauses have big fees attached. ake for 40 mil was absurd at the time. so is our deal with leicester of 50 mil for kelechi

Nah, it just says it has an expiry but it wont have passed by the time we are able to buy again.

Im not saying is definitely coming and if he did it wouldnt be the second the window opens.

But all the information says if he wants to rejoin us and if we want to buy him it'll happen as a buyback for £40m. Its not that hard to get is it?

Bournemouth side believe there's no buyout clause for the winter window so yeah it is hard to imagine them being ok with him leaving mid season without them being ok with it. Summer window a different story.
