Well they do if they sell it via the club.
Profit margins are tiny.

As are the percentages of shirts sold through the club as opposed other legal and non legal sources.

No I don't think you're right.
Shirt manufactures aren't selling to distributors at a high rate. They are one of the cheapest materials to make.

You think stores are buying the shirt for $70 to sell for $80? Get real.

My memory on this is hazy, and this is just one small example (so I’m not saying this is indicative of the entire industry). But using my experience with the 2006 World Cup Australian jerseys.

Made for approx $4 each in Indonesia/China. Sourced to a distributor who then on sold them for approx $18 a unit to Rebel Sport. Then sold for approx $100 each (with a “free” Australian flag if I recall correctly).

United sell under 2m shirts a year on average.

Remember reading something last year that clubs are getting less than £5 a shirt depending if they do their own merchandise or outsource it.

The big money is in the deals, as Bojan points out shirt sales can influence the size of the deal.

Absolutely but the argument was against zindane saying clubs make nothing off of sales. They do when they are selling directly to the customer.

And both have worked out swimmingly 🤔

Exactly.

Prior to signing Pogba “United have just signed their CM for the next 10 years, spread over that period it evens out”

Of all the 100m+ transfers, I’d argue Mbappe is the only one that’s earned the money back so far.

Sancho is not automatically guaranteed to be any good. He’s not one of the very best wingers in the world as it is, so things can happen. He’s still extremely good for his age though. At the current transfer value he’s about 70-100m overvalued imo.

No they haven't not to what we thought anyways.

I'm saying we are that big of a club no matter what we can still attract players of that calibre.

I think there is something in the right players coming for the right reasons.

I have no idea how this relates to Sancho. Maybe he is the next Ronaldo who started as a winger as well after all in which case he is worth 500

Statistically, he is one of the best players in the world, let alone wingers. If he is 100m overvalued then you think he is worth 30m? Bizarre

Haha what? He is easily one of the best wingers in the world. He is already very good.

He's one of the best in the world, bizarre take.

Said that clubs don't make the money back on transfers through shirt sales. Never said they make nothing at all.

Maybe read the post of yours that I quoted and explain to me where in that post you've said that.

Might help if you read the discussion I wss responding to which was a discussion about shirt sales paying for transfers being a myth (it is). To which I responded that clubs do not get paid per shirt sold. No mentuon of clubs making nothing at all from kit sales like yo iu claimed in a latter post. That should put your mind at ease.

Ok mate. You can't even post properly you're that wrong.

Quite a claim from someone who claims I said clubs make nothing from kit sales. Instead of addressing that you go on the attack which is a sure sign of a bs artist. Happy to let you continue for light entertainment.

I've read back through the convo. You made one post, the one I quoted. You did not say what you reckon you've said. But yes I'm the BS artist.

Care to continue this or just admit you have got it wrong?

Still embarrassing yourself I see. You claimed I said clubs make nothing from kit sales. I say thats bs. Instead of addressing this you continue to go on the attack - a sure sign of a bullshit artist.

Get back to me when you have the quote where I said clubs make nothing from kit sales like you claimed if you have any credibility.
