I thought you didn’t want him? Good to get the yank support on your side though
Hes not top of my list(wanted Thorgan) but we need a RW not named Willian so he'll do. Shit we have to wait until next season though.

Yeah come on SM, this is a horrible comparison.

Based on ability and position, you can't compare Kante and Drinkwater. As WR, Kante was in high demand, Drinkwater was just another English midfielder, he was never going to excel at Chelsea.

Come on Cruyff, that's poor logic. I pointed out that from Drinkwater's point of view, as a starting XI midfielder for Leicester in a title win, he clearly backed himself to go to Chelsea and get into the team. Jod making out as if it was a dumb move from him was stupid.

If Vardy had gone to Arsenal would it have been a dumb move for him?

I understand why he made the move (excellent payrise), but I thought it was a dumb move, I am sure many others did too. Drinkwater is not Chelsea quality, never was IMO.

No, cos we needed a forward (signed Laca instead). Though I don't think our style of play would suit Vardy,

Jod trying to talk about other clubs lol.

Wonder if Ricky Lambert viewed his move to Liverpool similarly when left his successful spell at Soton to get the chance to play for his boyhood club as stupid.
Not like he was really going to succeed there.

Something tells me he'd have done it again if he had his time over.

Drinkwater was actually okay for us in his limited opportunities. Would still be handy for a few clubs in the league.

In your opinion. Short memory though, he was fantastic that season for Leicester as were all their major players.

So would it have been dumb for Vardy to make the move or not? Would he have been making the move for money or the opportunity to play for Arsenal or both?

Drinkwater was always a limited footballer playing at a club that averaged about 30% possession when they won the league - he was never equipped to be part of a midfield at a big club that plays on the front foot. Probably a bit far to say he was “dumb” to move because ambition and everything, but career wise you can’t say it’s been a good move for either himself or Chelsea fir that matter.

He was good yeah, I am not denying that.

Bit of both I think to be honest, as in dumb/not dumb. I think his limitations would have been exposed.

I guess that's all I was trying to say mate, that from his point of view he did the right thing for his career, and it wasn't the dumb move Jod was making it out to be.

I think where you went wrong was comparing the move to Kante’s. Kante was always walking straight into that Chelsea first 11, Drinkwater obviously was not

dortmund doing exceptional business. already signed the player that had pretty much replaced him this season (sancho), got a lot of money for someone who is out of contract at the end of the season, and kept him until the end of the season.

The comparison was two players coming off title winning seasons capitalising on their form and moving to a bigger club.

Pretty happy with the Pulisic signing. Would have preferred to get him now. But I suppose waiting will only make his debut that little bit sweeter.

64 million Euros is good for Dortmund... hopefully that money can be used to keep Hakimi

But 1 is a regular player whilst the other sits on the bench.
If Drinkwater left for money then it was a good move, if it was to play football then it was a bad move.
