I know we joke about him on here, but is Duncan Castles reliable when it comes to transfers? He's said we're interested in Dani Alves. Despite his age, it would fill an obvious need for us, but given the source I'm skeptical.

apollo_creed can probably elaborate on this one..

How many have Ajax actually lost so far?

De Ligt is doing everything he can to screw his own transfer up

Is he? He has agreed terms. Up to the club's to make a deal on the fee.

Read Villa are up around £100m of spending so far. Crazy money really.

When you consider they released 9 players at the end of the season and had 5 loan players return to their parent clubs which left them with one centre back in James Chester, one left back in Neil Taylor and one winger in Andre Green (it left 3 goalkeepers, 13 outfield players plus youth players on their books), the spending hasn't been that crazy when you break it down.

They have re-signed El-Ghazi, Mings and Hause after their loans last season, really only overpaying for Mings who isn't worth half of what Villa paid for him but important for his leadership, while Konsa and Jota are signings to provide depth at their postions (which Villa didn't have cover for last season) having played previously under Dean Smith. Wesley is replacing Abraham who was never going to sold or loaned back out to them and if he was would cost even more, then there is Targett who gives Villa a second left back on their books and an automatic upgrade. Now Douglas Luiz comes in to improve the DM position and gives the midfield more depth. Would expect another central defender, a right winger and maybe a central mid before the window is closed

So yes, lots of money but planned, needed players and all done early because the club relied to much on the loan market and because there was so much deadwood to be removed.

better than directors pocketing it

Lazio apparently want 90m euros, and reportedly don't feel any pressure to lower it as he's apparently told them he's happy to stay another year

Some United tomatoes reckons it's bs.

Easy solution: piss Raiola off.

Well that would be silly, the guys a campaigner but there is a reason players want him around.

It’s the club that’s not popular atm.

Who knows what the clowns in charge are doing or not doing.

There are other, better, ways for money to be invested in a club to secure its long term future rather than myopic gambling on Premier League survival.

There's still every chance he'll choose Arsenal, but fu** the melts from the Arsenal fans on Twitter will make this worth it.
Cheeky bid for Tierney next week?
