Most would agree. Generally where you're born determines your nationality. Kinda like my Dad being born in Ireland but I'm not Irish..

His Dad was born in Wales but that means fu** all.
To some countries sure. But generally not the Welsh or the Irish. Some exceptions may apply like Morgan and Rice.

My heart says please happen. My head says it's never going to.

Good on them for not putting themselves in financial jeopardy. Weird thing to mock them about.
I'm not mocking them per-say. It's just a funny number compared to everything else that is flying around. Norwich are one of the thriftiest in the business and you only have to look at their transformation under Farke to see that. Pukki was their leading scorer and a free agent.

SM You been reading about Hull City being linked with a Ben Woodburn loan? (and Herbie Kane loan which I mentioned a couple months ago)

Yeah, we were linked to Woodburn in January too. Bowler still hasn't gone through so I have no idea what's going on. After our success with Wilson I'd hope we've struck up a decent relationship with Liverpool.

Woodburn a couple years ago did well as a left winger in the U23s (Harry Wilson was on the right), but recently he's been playing LCM in a mid 3 and has stunk it up. (Although he did get a nice assist vs 3rd div Tranmere the other day)

I actually think Herbie Kane (despite Woodburn getting more hype in years past) would be the better CM if you ended up loaning both.

They've done well to give themselves cover if someone comes in with a crazy offer for Max Aarons really.

I don't think Byram's good enough to be a right back at Premier League level, but he's better suited as a winger.

Hope he gets a decent opportunity though, never really got one with us.

I get the feeling Spurs have gone past him, if that makes sense. Plenty of options in that position and aside from the feel good factor, he may not drastically improve the squad.

Having said that, when Trancedi says boom, it’s a sign it won’t happen.

Yeah, it's a tough one. If he feels a bit of love, back in familiar surroundings he could get back to his genuinely world class level. But then there's also a chance he won't and he'll be injured more often than not. It would be a massive risk on a 30 year old.

I don't necessarily agree that we've gone past him or that we have a wealth of options in that area though. As I said, at his best he's world class. I don't think anyone, let alone Spurs, could turn their noses up at that, but yeah, there are other factors. As for the team. I mean we really only have Lucas and Son who can genuinely play wide left or right and he's better than Lucas. There's absolutely room for him in that respect. I mean, if he was at his best, something like this would be incredible:

Winks
Ndombele - Dele
Bale - Kane - Son
That front three all at their best and all fully fit would be worth the price of a season ticket alone.

Haha yeah, and as for Palmeri, if it was just him I wouldn't have posted. It's just that everything else was in Spanish. It's on the front page of Marca today, which normally doesn't mean a whole lot, but apparently it was initially reported by one of their chief writers/editors or something, who is apparently tier one for Real Madrid news.

He once went Boom that we were selling Dele to Arsenal. I merely wondered why we’d sell him to some team in Argentina cos the alternative is a pisser.

He’s correct less often than Kane Cornes is

hahaha what a crock of s**t.

delph has been useless ever since he went to the sky blue. hopefully for this origina poster's sake he will perform.
I’m very happy with the signing, £8.5m in the modern market is really not a lot of money.

At 29yo he admittedly doesn’t offer any resale value or the ability to improve from here but he’s still got several good years left in him.

I don’t expect him to start in our best XI but will no doubt improve the squad and adds a lot of experience and leadership. We’ve really been lacking leaders at the club.

Happy to welcome him to the club!

i understand that hes a great addition to the club but the spill about him is completely off the mark. ditched his team in the 11th hour to go and play for a team rhat rarely used him

i hope it doesnt end in tears for the everton lads.

Could see Bale going on the same wages as Kane but thats still a fair whack less than his RM contract.

To make it happen Levy would need to cough up a decent signing on fee for Bale.
According to Marca, we're willing to pay about 40m pounds as a transfer fee and half the wages, about 250k (which is about what Kane is on, and as a reference, about 50k more than what Ndombele's on apparently), with Bale expecting that Madrid will make up whatever's left in order for them to get most of his wages off the books, which would mostly come from the transfer fee anyway.

Normally I would just brush this off as just another lazy Bale back to Spurs rumour, but as I said, the guy who is reporting this is apparently considered a very reliable source for Real Madrid, which makes it a little more interesting.

Unless they're trying to use him to build some groundswell for the deal.

Don't mind it. Adds another attacking player who is world class at the top of his game.
But he should be a nice to have signing. We have more pressing items.

Like a centre back if Alder goes
And a creative mid (whether Eriksen stays or leaves -he needs pressure on his spot).
And i'm still puzzled what the full back strategy is.

Also, when the hell are we signing Sessegnon :p
