I’m very happy with the signing, £8.5m in the modern market is really not a lot of money.

At 29yo he admittedly doesn’t offer any resale value or the ability to improve from here but he’s still got several good years left in him.

I don’t expect him to start in our best XI but will no doubt improve the squad and adds a lot of experience and leadership. We’ve really been lacking leaders at the club.

Happy to welcome him to the club!

Has he been a leader at his previous clubs? That’s a genuine question, I have no idea. Just the word “leader” doesn’t really stick out to me when I think of Fabian Delph.

Good business for you guys. He could end up being a Barry type signing - very useful. #powershift is back on.

I think he was captain at Villa. Also on that Man City documentary All or Nothing, he was a big voice in the locker room.

i understand that hes a great addition to the club but the spill about him is completely off the mark. ditched his team in the 11th hour to go and play for a team rhat rarely used him

i hope it doesnt end in tears for the everton lads.
Meh - Not the first player, not the last.

Oh yeah that’s right, he came out and said he wouldn’t leave Villa when he was captain and then joined City a few days later.

I reckon he’s a good player. Will walk straight in to their first XI in my opinion, especially if Gueye leaves.

Bradesmaen How do you think the midield will be set up this season? Delph-Gueye-Gomes with Davies backing up? or a midfield 2 with Siggy in front of them?
Depends whether Gueye stays really. I can't see all 3 playing unless Sigurdsson is not playing as Silva likes to play a 4-2-3-1.

That seems weird. Medicals these days involve a lot of tests and equipment. Player is more likely to travel to a medical facility that the club uses.

Hopefully De Ligt joining Juventus now means they will sell Kean to us, apparently they want a buy-back clause so we are going to offer more to avoid that
