Which is why I suggested wages may have played a part.

I think it’s more Maguire wants to go to it’s whether De Ligt doesn’t.

Point being you're suggesting United have the cash to afford him and only an idiot wouldn't go for him? He was pretty blatantly shopped around mate, and the club willing to offer the highest wage got him.

I would suspect that the total cost of the two deals isn't as one-sided as people are claiming.

There's also a fair bit of underrating of Maguire going on.

He will learn a lot there. And is every chance to spend most of his career there.

I think racism has got to him and deep down harbours a move home back north.

Nothing concrete on a sale though, certainly no stronger than the rumours of last summer.

Maguire is decent, but considerably less talented than De Ligt. United surely can offer wages to tempt the Dutch wonderkid. Granted they may have to move Sánchez on and that doesn’t seem likely at this stage. I don’t think Maguires wages would be much less anyway, you’d imagine between £150-200kpw

I'll disagree with the word considerably there. Maguire is one of the best ball playing CBs going around at the moment, and has stepped up in every club environment he's been in. Much like Robertson, who also attracted his doubters when he moved to Liverpool.

I doubt Maguire would be demanding close to De Light's wages, but of course impossible to say.

Robbo was far more 'tested' than Maguire.. Maguire was just cracking into our PL team when he was sold, Robbo had been a regular for two PL seasons.

I honestly think it will be Foyth as the starting RB. Played well there in the game at the Etihad late last season up against Sterling, and apparently he played there for the last few games of the Copa America for Argentina and was really good.

I just came to post that. Haha what's the over/under on how many weeks until he's sacked?
