Having a medical today apparently.

I honestly think it will be Foyth as the starting RB. Played well there in the game at the Etihad late last season up against Sterling, and apparently he played there for the last few games of the Copa America for Argentina and was really good.

I just came to post that. Haha what's the over/under on how many weeks until he's sacked?
Would love a short term deal for Alves but unsure whether we have the desire to get someone his age in, despite his success.
Oh well, our options at RB are okay even if we sell and I'd love to give some serious exposure to KWP.

Well it's looking like KWP will be the only RB we'll have on our tour to Asia, so he'll definitely get a chance to push his case.

Rose not going on tour either.

Where did you see that?

The mooted Rose sale is one I really don't get. He's still one of the best in his position when fit, and we don't exactly have anyone there that can replace him.

Should have said “apparently” at the end there.

Maguire is decent, but considerably less talented than De Ligt. United surely can offer wages to tempt the Dutch wonderkid. Granted they may have to move Sánchez on and that doesn’t seem likely at this stage. I don’t think Maguires wages would be much less anyway, you’d imagine between £150-200kpw

United were one of several teams to agree a fee with Ajax, including PSG and Barca. However what do you think the chances were of non UCL playing United being able to be a better attraction than any of those clubs? Then add that his agent is trying to get his biggest client out of United. Zero chance that deal was happening.

I'm shocked at that fee for Dr Ligt. 60 odd million? At that price I'm stumped as to why United, City, Barca, Real etc all weren't right into him.

Who says they weren't?

I can’t believe you went down the “could he do it on a wet, windy night in Stoke” route.

Well I needed a new red and white striped team since they got relegated. :( But I'm glad someone finally picked up on the reference.

Would have thought we all got it.

Barca were right into him

They were he just made it clear he wanted to go to juve.

depth was a bit of an issue to begin with

Trippier, Rose, Alder plus potentially Eriksen out.

Would hope this is the precursor to a number of ins.
2 new left backs, a new centre back and a couple of mids is a lot to get done in 3 weeks.

I think Barca would have definitely been look at for FFP after signing De Jong and Griezmann... then De Ligt? Would have been what.. a 300m window and selling only Andres Gomes, Cillessen and Denis Suarez? They're currently 150million down on net transfer.. would be over 200 and questions raised.

Aarons is like Sessegnon.. he aint leaving until they get relegated/end of this season.
Sessengon/Fulham is the perfect example of why they should sell and not rely on a teenager full back first season back up. They'd be better off taking the money now than losing 1/2 his value if they go down.

He started more games in midfield than down back. Works for Liverpool to have an average just overteenage years full back.

Not sure Norwich even have a CB that is at Lovren's level let alone VVD. Or a keeper of Mignolet's level let alone Allison.

30m for Norwich could be enough to get them 2-3 players who could be key pillars to survival. Max Aarons a teenage right back won't be a key pillar to their survival.
