RM is a bit of damage control over this, got Marca to push it and couldn't convince Bale to take the deal, even after Zidane hung him out to dry. Bale and manager should be feeling fairly empowered from this.

Big question will be whether ZZ plays him. Wages aside, he is entering his twilight.

Kind of feel it would be best if he forced a late cheap deal through with Spurs, Bayern or Utd to consolidate his legacy in front of less c***ish fans.

Agree, they should use this as leverage to leave to a club that wants to take him on. Clearly though no European clubs are interested at those wages and any reported transfer fee, a few clubs would take the wages on if it didn't include a 50m + transfer fee you would think.

though if the players were told this is effectively his fee but to him in wages, it could be something they'd accept...but we'd need to use the fee to up some wages (Dele & Son mainly).

Personally think Bale is treated harshly, plays a lot better than what is made out. If he was liked by Zidane and was a RM fan favourite he'd be worth 100m even at 30. Courtois has already said he’s known as the golfer. 3 years. No incentive to leave and a manager who doesn’t want him.

That's where it makes more sense for RM to do it as a free transfer, he is on ridiculous wages, sometime like 600k (in pounds) a week, maybe even more.

Can't see Real letting him go free. Reckon anyone signing him will have to pay around 25m and a big sign on fee to get him instead of his real value of around the 50m mark. Spurs could do that, put him on 200k / week and pay him a 8m quid signing on fee.

It does seem the only place where he will get the same wages or better for Bale is China though. Which doesn't make sense because he could easily spend the next 3 seasons in the PL and then get the same wages in China after he is done at the highest level.

It's a matter of who blinks first. Bayern could be a possibility, Bale would be a suitable Robben replacement.
