If he wanted to go, I don't think we'd hold the buyer to the release clause. The rumour last week was that Juve were into him (but there were a heap of Atletico-Juve rumours last week). It'd suck to lose an academy product that loves the club so much he's last contract renewal was for 7 years, but Saul hasn't been at his best for over a year now.

It will either be to get a fee or because it's mutually beneficial for both parties. Giroud is about to turn 35 and seems to love London life so he may be happy playing limited minutes each season. It also works for us that we have an experienced striker we can call upon who is okay with playing his role off the bench.
