I would rather United show they are really good before I claim they are right now. Naming names is one thing, sure in theory, sounds promising, but wins and lots of them is actual proof of being any good. Right now, we are what we are showing we are. A long way off the pace.

Truth as always is somewhere in between.

For me, everything would have to go right before they start contending.

Existing players have to maintain current levels (2 or 3), or step up (the rest). They have to recruit well, and the manager needs help.

I can't see them challenging, but I don't think they need to straight away. Build the squad, get rid of wasters, establish a playing style, push into that 2nd/3rd slot and you have a platform for a title push in years to come.

Cmon dude, you would have signed Pulisic, Kovacic, Werner & Havertz in the space of 1 and a half years. Thats nearly 240m worth of new signings with just Hazard the only major departure. Youd be expecting to challenge and possibly win the title.

I hope so, but i just think we'll be too weak at GK, CB and Lamps isnt a top quality manager yet.

No doubt we'd finish top 4 and be an amazing/exciting team to watch.
