From what ive seen pretty much every off contract player that plays regularly has signed on for the rest of the season.

Nowhere near the big deal it was made out to be.

Not at Burnley.

Wtf are Juve doing

Last i read it's fake

But If juv get him - loook a nice fit ..

You might but Dortmund won't. The facts are this time next year he is into the last 12 months of his deal and if he doesn't have a great season the loss will be more than 30m and if he has another great season his value isn't going to increase with that long left. The best time for Dortmund to sell is this market because this is where they'll make the most money from the sale.

Ok but think about it the other way

Dortmund don't want him to have 12 months left - cause he might yhen leave free. Which would be shame given apparently neutral sources have him valued at 110mill quid or whatever.

Then there's the fact he's Englishman mates are mostly at United.

Plus an obscene signing free and wage... He may not end up United but the writing seems on the wall.

Im sure they would have preferred the alternative - relegation and an even bigger hit on television revenues.
I'm sure they're not running around saying it's not a big deal, that they're in a relegation scrap without one of their best players.

He has been a complete non-factor this season so I'm not so sure about that.

I am. It creates an artificial environment over the course of the rest of the season and I'm sure they'd rather him him playing than not.

You could argue that the benefits of Project Restart outweigh the costs in terms of clubs losing players from their squad (I don't). And still accept that any "force" that means that some clubs lose players and others don't is a significant one.

Artificial environment?

If it was on the scale of Burnley then I'd be agreeing with you, but one severely out of form winger leaving the dressing room is not the end of the world.

Particularly since he clearly already has his head turned and having him out of the dressing room could actually bolster morale. No different to a player leaving in January.

Pretty simple, put an offer on the table that sees your player stay for another month. Shouldnt be that hard as they cant sign elsewhere. Majority of players with expiring deals have extended them anyway showing this is a club issue more so than anything else.

Consequences for Bournemouth are greater.
A player we've been linked with, who I don't think even improves on our worst winger.
His attitude of bailing on Bournemouth when needed most is just the icing. Hope he goes to the other lot down the road.
