Seems an odd way to entice someone to take a pay cut.
“We’re gonna give you less work to do unless you take a pay cut, then you’ll get more work!”
The rodwell contract thing on 'sunderland till I die' was completely bizarre.

Theres a doco about the season after SAFC went down.
They tried to make rodwell cancel his 60000$ week contract.
Yet the owner is apparently a billionaire and a w***er.

For me, I’d want Ozil, Mustafi and then Xhaka moved on in that order. To be fair to Mustafi and Xhaka though, at least they’re contributing to the first team (and have been playing well the last few fixtures).
Ozil is so far out of Arteta’s plans that he can’t even feature on the bench.
These are still areas of the pitch though that Arsenal need considerable upgrades on to challenge the (growing number of) teams above us.
Having watched season 2 it seemed like it had somewhat turned around owner wise. Guessing not so much?Sunderland fan for 12 years who's going to break this sh*t show down because of how wrong that is:
1) We signed that PoS to the deal he got without a relegation clause despite being a team constantly in danger of relegation. To give Jack some credit that was our own fault.
2) When we got relegated, Ellis Short pulled back his spending on Sunderland heavily and we were relying on free transfers and loan deals despite selling WC star Jordan Pickford for almost 30 million pounds and barely spending a penny. At this stage it was obvious that high earners like Rodwell, Ndong, Kone, Khazri, Lens and a few more all needed to be moved on so we could bring players in for Simon Grayson (and later Chris Coleman). Most moved on through loans or sales except for Kone, Ndong and Rodwell.
3) Here's the big issue. The ones on high wages who stayed all played to some extent except for good ol' Mr Rodwell. He himself said in the middle of our season in the championship that he still harboured ambitions of playing for England (yeah alright) and needed the right move for his career. He then ruled himself out of every game because of "injury", was seen in that doco laughing about not playing, and then refused to move on in January despite him supposedly thinking he was still England quality when him leaving was clearly the best for all parties involved because he only cared about getting the money and was bullshitting through his teeth when he made a public declaration that he still wanted to play for England in the press.
4) Our owner is no longer Mr. Short although the owner is still a w***er so you are half right on that one.
5) Jack Rodwell is a PoS and I hope he retires playing reserves for Sutton United.
TL;DR :
We didn't bully him at all. We needed the money to get players in who'd keep us up in the Championship because if we got relegated we would have ended up in financial oblivion. He said he wanted to move on to keep playing for England (again, that's BS) and he refused when he had the perfect opportunity to do so and then continued to keep ruling himself out of all games due to "injury" and probably kept laughing about not playing at all either. That cost us from getting the players Coleman wanted from his wages freed up and was a key reason in us getting relegated.
Bloke is a flog of the highest order and deserves all the sh*t he gets.
Lol xhaka is one of your most important players

What do you think of the show mate? And why do you think Donald is a w***er?Sunderland fan for 12 years who's going to break this sh*t show down because of how wrong that is:

Might as well advertise he has a huge chip on his shoulder over Bruno.

.. because I think Bruno Fernandes is a very good signing, but not the greatest in the history of English football?![]()

I'd take him but sadly we don't need him and have much higher priorities that need to be worked on.Thiago Alcântara will leave Bayern Munich this window. Player will move to the Premier league. Thiago wants to move to Manchester United, Liverpool, or Arsenal. [@GuillemBalague]
Not sure hes going back to the 80s haha.Dear Kai,

Yeh, without knowing anything outside the show the new guy did seem like a bit flakey at times. And losing Maja was a killer, kid was good. Felt a bit sorry for Will Grigg, they paid waaaay overs for him, got burnt there but were desperate. Really felt for those supporters at times. It's turned out that he and the other bloke (Methven) are chancers who thought they could get us promoted in one go and make a profit. Even before COVID-19, it was all but confirmed in the local rags that they wouldn't be able to keep funding us because they didn't have the cash and the parachute payments we were meant to get from the PL went straight to Ellis Short as part of the conditions of Sunderland being sold to them. Also letting Maja go for pennies when he should've just stayed for the rest of the season and vastly overpaying on Will ******* Grigg and then blaming Jack Ross (then manager) for him being sh*t house and Methven being an absolute ******* w***er don't help although he's not longer involved with us like he was before.
Thoughts on Donald are above and the show is depression fuel to the max although seeing the people who work for the club and the fans was nice. Rodwell, Martin Bain, Grayson and the new owners made me want to throw something through my TV though.
