Surely if you’re Sancho, you’re starting to get a bit pissed off. Not with BVB, but with Man U. Id be taking the fact they only want to spend 60m personally - they’re being super cheap when they paid 80m for a fridge. Sancho would surely see himself as a different level to Maguire and I can’t see how he wouldn’t be a bit annoyed.

That being said, Lewandowski in ‘13 also confused me. BVB only wanted a fair fee for him, but Bayern were happy to wait. Can’t see how his ego managed to settle that he was worth a 0€ transfer fee

I’d dare suggest that juicy sign on fee he received from Bayern would’ve more than made up for any perceived blow to his ego or transfer value.

The concept players derive self worth based on the transfer fee is weird.

If you ask slabhead I bet be wouldn't want to be an 80milliom player

I reckon you don’t need to be a scientist to work out that Maguire and Sancho are two very different personalities

Yep. I highly doubt they care as much as it’s being talked up. Their priority would probably be more so around their personal terms, contract, the team/environment they’re coming into, the city/area they will settle in etc.

The huge transfer fee carries huge expectations. Not sure every player would want that. Pepe for example, may not want the burden of being an ~€80m signing.

Mustafi at the time of his signing was the 3rd/4th most expensive defender of all time I believe, if one were to ask him did he want that, he may have a different answer. Plenty more examples. I don’t believe it’s as important as it’s being suggested here.

Bild+] Manchester United are not in a position to pay the full €120m up front for Sancho due to the corona crisis. United want to pay €70m up front + €30m for Jadon Sancho up to 2021, and then an extra €20m in 2022

* Conte likely to leave Inter, Allegri #1 target for replacement (Dimarzio staff)

* Ginter confirms that he will stay with Mönchengladbach in the coming season [German]

* Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs which are interested in signing right-back Zeki Çelik from Lille this summer

I doubt he gives a fu**.

Yeah. No player is more concerned for a transfer fee to his former club over his own increase in wage at a new club. I am sure a £50k+ increase at United will make him happier.

On the flip side you could just say that Dortmund not being realistic with his value is pissing him off, it isn't but we can say it for added drama.
