So he's not on 220k per week......

So if someone got paid $1m up front and then no weekly salary you'd say they're playing for free?

United managers since Fergie have received plenty of backing IMO. They've just (as a generality) spent their money particularly badly.

Moyes - 1 season £67m (Fellaini, Mata main purchases).
Van Gaal - 2 seasons £248m (Herrera, Shaw, Rojo, Di Maria, Blind)
Mourinho - 2 1/2 seasons £362m (Depay, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Martial, Pogba, Baillie, Sanchez/Mhkytarian, Matic, Lukaku, Lindeloff, Fred)
Soljskaer - 1 1/2 seasons £145m (McGuire, Wan Bissaka)

The discussion wasn't that they haven't got backing it was they haven't got the right backing when it mattered. Mou being the big one after finishing second. He didn't get the players he wanted.

Why do so many people struggle to spell Maguire's name? It's not as if he's Kepa.

No, he's on 150k a week. Plus he's also apparently getting an extra signing on fee as a free agent.
So roughly 2,700 per person for those 55.

When does it not matter?

You were a million miles away from a league in 18/19 and Mourinho had spent over £300m (mainly on rubbish) the previous two seasons.

He spent £70m that summer as well, and while every manager in the world wants more all the time I don't think you could say he wasn't supported financially in his time at the club.

The industry doesn't rolls signing bonus', sponsorship deals, loyalty bonus' and sell on fee %'s maintained by players into weekly salary's.

If you disagree with it, cool, it's still not how it's done.

Why does it bother you so much? Not the first time I've seen you bite at it. Is it because he's former Hull or something?

The industry? It was a comment on an internet message board and it was pretty clear what Chef meant.

Because it's a really common name and I'm still bemused at people spelling it wrong. Is that a problem?

Because he didn't get the players he wanted when it was the most important market to do so. It's not hard to follow mate.

Yeah, i was meaning the over all cost to Arsenal.

Glad Kia has found a different club to suck onto.

Thankfully it's not an epidemic yet, we've got three of his blokes on our list.

I've read it's 100k a week and a likely substantial fee but even if he's at 150k that 70k extra is 10mil, he's surely valued well in excess of that if he weren't a free transfer. I'm not enthused yet about it but he's creative and that's a need, the price suits so we'll see how he gels.

He'll play his heart out, I'll give him that. Always puts in a shift and almost always guaranteed a goal against Spurs, wont have to change his song too much.

The worry is hes an attacking mid but has only scored 40 open play goals in about 350 games.

Yeah, that's a concern but if he can be integral to giving Pepe and PEA more opportunity he'll fill a big need.

I am glad that Moyes, LVG and Mourinho weren’t backed to the extent that Ole will because there is something about Ole that feels long-term. He has been backed in the transfer market and has made some nice signings. He has brought Greenwood into the first team and Mason has done superbly well. I would be more upset if Ole wasn’t backed than I have been at any point Post-Ferguson.
Not really the other managers fault about bringing Greenwood through. He was just too young. He's the right age now to be coming through and Ole just happens to be in charge. If any of the others were in charge, I'm sure they would be bringing him through too.
