i assume leeds will try and argue that they were officially promoted after the clause had expired. how that can hold up i have no idea

Surely the clause expires on the occasion of Leeds being promoted or not being promoted. But guess we'll see.

Has there ever been a first half of season loan where there is addons on the players wages if that team in the 2nd half of the season goes on to avoid relegation or gets promoted 6 months after the loan player has already left?

Wouldn't have thought so, but aren't we seeing a perfect example playing out of Coutinho who is now at Bayern and would cause Barca to pay Liverpool more if he wins the CL?

Don't think Barca will be crying to the courts saying "But he doesn't play for us anymore so it doesn't count".

Contract says if Leeds promoted Leeds buy player.

Leeds try to argue against this.

Seems only one party isn't abiding by the black and white of contracts.

Im with you on this. Dont see much chance of Leeds winning this one and then they have a player on their hands who knows the club went to court in order to circumvent an agreement to purchase him.

I'd be very surprised if Barca would owe Liverpool anything if he wins the UCL with Bayern. I'm sure it specifies with Barcelona.

It would be a bizarre clause to put in a contract.

apparently it's player related, not team related. which is just so insanely stupid.

I simply refuse to believe a club would be that stupid.

i have a hard time believing it too but apparently it is. 99.9% of deals in that way would be team orientated. not barca, they're too smart for that.

PSG, Dortmund and Monaco all weirdly linked to Zaha overnight.

mike123 any truth to the Dybala rumours? Seems odd that Juventus would again look to sell him after the top season he had.
I think they’re true given Dybala was rumoured to sign all year yet hasn’t put pen to paper. I think the Juve official website even teased the signing.

He’s apparently asking for 15mil now which we don’t want to give going by the laters rumours. I’m not sure if a high tier source reported that though.

He had a stellar year but he still causes headaches to coaches when trying to fit in with Ronaldo and was left on the bench a few times because of it. Not as badly as last season under Allegri where he pretty much had a line through his name but more than you’d want.

I still see it hard for him to leave given the wages he’s asking for, his image rights and then fitting him in a squad as he’s a ss/10 type.

I'd happily take him but I don't think we have a spot for him and a few demands would need to be lowered from his camp.

No chance we sign Zaha. We’re loaning a young RM forward ans paid for Bellingham and that’s us done I reckon

Do we? You need to jump on the blower and tell the Leeds top brass of your extensive experience in UK contract law then.

They could add you to the legal team before they drop £20m in the upcoming legal fees and potential additional compensation.

If the legal fees cost the much surely you just cop the transfer

Can you flick me over a copy of the contract? Keen to have a read.

So the contract didn't obligate you to buy him if you were promoted? Geeze, Pykie telling porkies.

Very few go to court for that reason, so there's obviously some legal grounds to fight it.

Trolling again.

Boring.

Not trolling at all, you Leeds supporters need to get your story straight. You came in here saying one thing and we all responded to that, then Jaymin is now denying that's the case. You suggesting you'd have to spend 20million on legal fees is a pisser as well.

We're owed 20% of any sale so you could probably get him for 65m with United paying the extra 20% on the Sancho fee ;)

Literally that's the only reason I can see that Dortmund were linked, to tie it into the above scenario.
