He literally scored 20 in all comps playing as a striker in 17/18 which put him either side of Bale and Greizmann.

He has played as a false 9 and through the wings the last 2 seasons.

Have a look at the last Spain vs England game if you think he is sh*t. He tore England a new one with a goal and assist in a 2-1 win.

How anyone could rework this as anything but a promising signing for a newly promoted side is bizarre. We aren't fighting for the title ffs.

Cool mate, genuinely hope you sign him.

just waiting for Fabrizio now to confirm this has been accepted. Welcome Lionel.

Levy would offer a salary of £150k per week so as to not break the wage structure

Loan.
Loan.
Sold.
Profit

Sarr was good at Nice, I want him to get loaned out this season and maybe next but eventually return and play a part in our team, smart defender and could be a good long term partner for Tomori if Zouma goes in the next few seasons

Phillips, Ayling and Struijk can all play there.

Leeds dropping Phillips in there is no different to West Ham dropping Declan Rice in there. Phillips often drops into the center halfs depending on the opponents formation and when they are in possession anyway.

I would prefer another option, but it's the way Bielsa prefers his squads.

Being able to play there isn't really the same as being suited or being PL capable of paying that position.

There's also the situation of robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Is there a chance Bielsa's system gets exposed in the PL?

Can such a high energy system see out a PL season with a small squad?

Isn't it very similar to Liverpool?

That seems to work

Bilbao under him we're very good to watch.

Reading into the Messi situation it appears the only way he can unilaterally terminate his contract is if someone activates his buyout clause (630m pounds).

His get out clause expired in June, I guess his representation is going to argue that it was intended to be after the season finished. Seems likely any transfer this window is going to require Barca's permission and likely a transfer fee. Nobody is going to activate the 630m pound end of contract clause.

It's almost like Liverpool have much better players. Hm.

I think he was average this season snd very good previously? (Under Henry??)
Good at winning the ball back, good at finding a pass out of defence. Didn't play much this season (20 appearances) Only 4 clean sheets which really isn't great. Season before that 15 in 35 which is much better. Also very disciplined, barely ever concedes fouls

Well nobody can say that for certain, can we? We will find out in a few weeks.

I'm not sure what you are getting at regarding robbing Peter to pay Paul, you were talking about squad depth, obviously if depth is tested you don't have your first choices in there regardless?

Struijk is an outstanding young DM prospect, I have no reservations about him covering for Phillips if that is what you were referring. He did it for the last 4 games of the season whilst Phillips was injured and was close to our best player in that period.

Some people have argued the PL should suit his system more than the Championship being a 38 game season vs a 46 game season.

Of course there is a chance his system fails if he's never been in the league before, howeverI'm fairly confident with what he turned a mediocre championship team into and what he's developed some fairly average players into that we are at least going to be competitive with other bottom half sides.

Phillips was a borderline League One attacking midfielder before Bielsa took over, he's now one of the best DM's in England.
