Sounds like FIFA wont give the go ahead for Messi to unilaterally terminate and join another club. No point fighting in civil court about it if Barca refuse and FIFA refuse the transfer.
Messi will need to go to the courts and/or FIFA before a move can take place to get a clear decision made. Probably FIFA in the first case.
Or a club will come to an arrangement with Barca. How much Barca would accept will probably depend on how strong this clause is.
