Problem with making a denial like that is that anything short of the same type of denial with future rumours will be seen as confirmation they're true.

I reckon if news sites just linked Brewster with Palace as a possible signing then it gets ignored. But falsely making up transfer fees and saying it’s all been agreed, they want to take a stand on that.
