All this shit talking directed at SM because his club is in League 1 only proves how limited those people are in your support for your own clubs. Big noting yourselves because your club “have made the big time” is incredibly floggish.

Barca have now managed to rid themselves of two old players, one shit in Vidal and one excellent in Suarez. Also managed to flog off the horrible Semedo. Long way still to go for them. I hope they enjoy the last 12 months of Messi.

Or it's just shit talking because he shit canned Leeds for 2 seasons in the championship thread....

Regardless of the reasons for discussing Hull's league position it's quite clear it has nothing to do with transfers, joop.

Cut it out.

Wow, protecting your real life friend SM.

Whether clickbait or not, this certainly would be interesting. No idea of the cost, but I imagine it would be fairly significant seeing as he won Gladbach's player of the season as an 18 year old prior to moving and knocked back Man City for Bayern 12 months ago.

You would think he would be seen as Thiago's successor.

Busquets, Alba, Pique all need moving on. Its painful for them but very poor management to end up with half the squad being in their thirties.

I wouldn’t know sitting atop my ivory tower.....

(Haha, only joking. We are shit).

turan and grizeman cost barca about 150 mil combined, and atletico have got villa and suarez now for free from barca. but yeah, keeping messi for 12 more months and then removing all the supporting cast around him is genius stuff from barca.

Yeah, really confused as to why they bought him. He was absolutely awful for Barca.
He will have cover behind him as the RWB for Wolves so defensively he won't need to be great but will have to defend. Will be needed going forward and releases Traore from the wing back position. Our right side will have a little bit of pace with him and Traore running through there

if its a choice between losing messi for 0 now or 0 in 12 months the choice is obvious. any clubs that were sniffing round could probably get him if they put a significant bid in but apparently no bid was ever made.

It’s amazing since Leeds got promoted to the PL how many supporters of theirs actually exist on this section. For the longest time I thought Elmer_Judd was the only one.

In fairness I have posted in the Championship threads for the best part of 16 years. The rest of this board didn’t really interest me until we were promoted.

Transfer thread was never PL exclusive, nor on topic, off topic, etc.

there wasnt a problem with keeping him. it's the fact they had no plan for anything after him if he did leave. then to completely remove rakitic, vidal, suarez all for nothing just defeats the purpose. i thought they should keep him, but they might as well have kept all these other guys for one last go. the fact they they havent shows how bad financially barca are, and how keeping messi now for 12 months longer will harm them more in the long run.

I just assumed Crypt was one of you, but maybe he just has a touch of Apollo when it comes to Bielsa.

No mate, I'm a Spurs man but enjoy watching Leeds play. I like attacking managers who believe in scoring goals as being the first priority. Plus Bielsa is Mauricio Pochettino's mentor so I have done a fair amount of research on the guy and watched his teams play. He might be concerned that his team is leaking a few goals right now but Bielsa is one of the top 5 managers on pedigree in this league (Pep, Ancelotti, Mourinho, Klopp and Bielsa) and I just cannot see any way they finish in the bottom 6, let alone get into a relegation scrap.

I don't think he's a world-class manager either - he's more a brilliant influence than a brilliant manager, but he is still very skilled.

Also, who are the 20 who are definitively better?

The following IMO definitively are ATM:
- Klopp
- Pep
- Sarri
- Ancelotti
- Zidane
- Flick
- Tuchel
- Simeone
- Deschamps
- Gasperini
- Jorge Jesus*
- Naglesmann
- Conte
- Favre
- Lopetegui
- Ten Hag
- Pochettino
- Allegri

That's up to 18 I can think of, and some of these might be arguable when you look at the context of where Leeds were before Bielsa took over. The likes of Nuno, Hassenhuttl, Sampaoli* and Rodgers are in a similar bracket, but certainly not definitively better. Ranieri, Mourinho and Pelligrini aren't what they once were, and while Dyche, Wilder, Villas-Boas and Rose have done some good work, I still need to see more from them.

Also Bielsa has never managed a title favourite to my knowledge. Even Newell's Old Boys aren't one of the biggest Argentine clubs (that would be River Plate, Boca Juniors, San Lorenzo, Racing Club and Independiente).

*Won Brasileiro
*Came 2nd in Brazil with a fairly average Santos side

Pep Guardiola says he's the best manager in the world. Mauricio Pochettino says the same thing.

But do carry on.

SM I don't know what you're laughing at mate.

The best managers are not always the ones who win a heap of trophies. Some guys like developing teams and are exceptionally good at it. Rich owners with open cheque-books mean nothing in the context of the conversation.

You are free to your own opinion. Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino say he's a genius and I think their credibility on the subject is almost unparalleled.

It certainly makes it a waste of time posting on here if someone is just going to show up to belittle the opinions of others.
