What’s your overall feeling of the owners/board etc. are you happy with their approach? Unhappy? Would you prefer to sign good players or trust a mix of academy and experience?

I guess the way EPL money is set up, it’s far too costly to not finish top 4, so those sort of experiments are hard. I feel for Ole tho... the board wants him to win but won’t give him any money. I guess that’s one way of seeing if someone can actually coach/motivate or not but it must get frustrating to see owners take money out of the club and not put back in

I’ve loved the approach where the academy is concerned and giving opportunities. Mason Greenwood is the latest to play often in the first team and he has thrived. I hope academy players continue to be given the oppoutunity to play regular 1st team football.

The transfer market dealings have been frustrating though, its been a circus every year. We’ve bought targets like Bruno and DVDB but to reach the last two days of the transfer market and not upgrade a position of need (whether that is LB, CB of RW) is frustrating. To go through an entire transfer window without fixing one of those positions (if we don’t), is irritating.

I don't think he's a world-class manager either - he's more a brilliant influence than a brilliant manager, but he is still very skilled.

That's up to 18 I can think of, and some of these might be arguable when you look at the context of where Leeds were before Bielsa took over. The likes of Nuno, Hassenhuttl, Sampaoli* and Rodgers are in a similar bracket, but certainly not definitively better. Ranieri, Mourinho and Pelligrini aren't what they once were, and while Dyche, Wilder, Villas-Boas and Rose have done some good work, I still need to see more from them.

Also Bielsa has never managed a title favourite to my knowledge. Even Newell's Old Boys aren't one of the biggest Argentine clubs (that would be River Plate, Boca Juniors, San Lorenzo, Racing Club and Independiente).

I think they are all ridiculous. Coutinho is the only decent player in that list but was never worth £130.5m.

De Bruyne cost £55m. Mane £34m. Salah €50m.

Of course, but that makes him a brilliant influence, rather than a brilliant manager per se - which is what I've been saying all along.

Bear in mind that that post was a response to a guy who didn't think that Bielsa was in the Top 20 managers worldwide. I disagree with that.

Those 3 were all signed before the Coutinho deal. Market went nuts when neymar moved on. Liverpool exploited it by getting an extra 40m on the Coutinho deal. For a club like Barca 130m isn't as big a deal as 20m for Bournemouth. To spunk it twice on unproven players from the same club is laughable / scary at the same time
