He signed as Rennes Ismaila Sarr replacement for €21m for Rennes club record fee 12 months ago from Sporting, where he was the one two punch with Bruno Fernandes.

Proceeded to be the highest rated player at Rennes last year, in a year they qualify for the CL and we are buying him for less than they bought him for 12 months ago?

The Rennes fans are out for blood on twitter about selling him. I watched their game this morning against Reims and he was incredible, scored a great goal and just missed a crazy bicycle kick.

They're signing an 18yo winger by the name of Jeremy Doku from Anderlecht for almost 30 million Euros who plays in the exact same position as Raphinha and is seen as one of the biggest young prospects in Europe (supposedly Liverpool were going to make a huge bid) so I think it's more to do with that.
