Not only that, last time they came into a windfall, when Bale was sold to Real Madrid, they poorly used the Bale funds in the transfer market. The only hit was Eriksen. Lamela has shown flashes but I dont think he should be considered a good signing using Bale money because he has spent so much time on the sidelines injured and he never lived up to the billing as a goalscoring midfield that Spurs thought they were signing from Roma. Lamela scored 19 league goals in two seasons at Roma. In 8 years at Spurs, he only has 17 league goals.The problem for Kane is no matter how much money Spurs would get for him, they can’t actually replace him. There’s only a handful of attacking players in the world at his level and they aren’t able to get any of them. They can use the cash to strengthen a few positions but even then it won’t stretch that far and they’d still need to spend it well. It just makes no sense to let him go.
If he ever was to leave he’d be terrifying in that Manchester City squad/system.
