Pep's tactic is to not have main out and out striker. I would not call it grunt work. It's dropping into the midfield to link the play. Kane is the best in the business right now.

He is very good yes, but they have De Bruyne for that.
Still think Messi is a better fit right now, and Haaland in a years time. Can't see them going for Kane.

Lol, you called me a drunk Collingwood fan.

Taking lessons from you in common sense is like taking shooting lessons from Cam Reddish.

Nope, at the time he was shooting sub 30%. Your memory is god awful.

You said he could be bought out. I said he wouldn't be. Aaaand.... he wasn't.

How the hell do you figure I'm off the mark? Actually don't answer that, I don't want to go down the looney tunes rabbit hole any further than I already have.

Cognitive dissonance doesn't even do service to your lapses in logic and recollection. This does though.

I don't think I said nor was implying there was a large chance of horford being bought out, in the short term. Could of only not happened, cause the okc tank was already so epic. - instead they decided to just not play him like iggy for half a season. Which is very similar

In regards to reddish, his stats per month from distance were rapidly on the up and it's a shame he has an injury currently

Again I was looking forward to replying to your essay but the thread was closed and it was too hard :(

I was not talking about you personally just the general feeling from spurs fans. Many seemed to have moved on to the next stage of acceptance.

Harry might stay, good luck. Not sure if his heart will be in it? Some reports are saying he has been wanting out for a while already.

Kane is the definition of a complete striker. If they need a poacher in the box he could do that. If they need someone to link with midfield he could do that. If they need someone to press centre backs and defensive midfielders he can do that. There's not too many systems or sides he doesn't get into and improve the side and be one of if not their best players out there.

Never said we were rivals, in the sense that Arsenal and Chelsea are our rivals.

We are competitors, and equal competitors in the post-Fergie era. A couple of weeks ago we were co-competitors in an ill-judged, short lived 'Superleague'.

There's a difference.

We are sick of being typecast as the Man United feeder club though. Went through the same nonsense with Bale and Poch too.

Polled them have you?

Most of them are nauseated at the sight of Sky pundits behaving like salivating dogs over Kane's future - a mere couple of weeks after the public outcry about the pitfalls of a superleague. And this 'Kane to Man Utd' story has been running for five years in the press.

Most wouldn't begrudge the Kane the chance to leave for titles.

Real, Barcelona, City, Paris SG, Bayen Munich - it sucks, but the supporter base won't begrudge him his move.

Man United or Liverpool? That's a whole different kettle of fish. And if you don't understand why, remember that it's mere months since we beat you 6-1 at Old Trafford, and less than two years since we faced off with Liverpool for the ultimate prize in football. We finished above you guys four times in six years, and above Liverpool seven times in eight years. And it's about 13 years or so since our star strike force was broken up and sent to Man U and Liverpool. Fans are not stupid, they know and remember this stuff.

Now throw in the superleague catasrophe, a convoluted and expensive stadium move, and misgivings over the entire transformation from Pochettino to Mourinho, and you've got yourself a tinderbox just waiting to be lit. So yes, fans blame Lewis and Levy. Which is why convincing the sale of our talisman to any team we've been more than holding our own against in the last decade is an almost impossible sell for the board.
You were the one who said we were direct rivals. Regardless, you haven't been our feeder club for some time and aside from shit banter, nobody really talks about that these days. Selling Modric and Bale to Madrid for less than we offered put paid to that.

Well I do live in Hertfordshire. Hertfordshire is the epicentre of white middle class Spurs season ticket holders. It's pretty hard to avoid them. I'd know a whole lot more than you do.

People don't pay as much attention to Sky and the Sun as you'd think. If you get annoyed by them, don't go anywhere near talksport as your head might explode at some of their 'content'. They may as well be doing an SNL sketch. The whole Kane to United thing was mildly interesting 5 years ago, but again was mostly banter to wind up Spurs fans. Now it is just boring and even he wanted to move, Levy hates United and United can't afford him anyway so I'm not sure what the big deal is.

Spurs fans I speak to resent City much more than United but I'm sure they'd prefer to sell him to a European club. I know he turned down Madrid 4 or 5 years ago. Not sure they have the money now even if he did want to go to Madrid.

Yes you beat us a couple of times. Well done. I don't think Spurs fans will rise up against Levy. If they were going to it would have happened already. Would be great for you if it did happen.

Spurs in the super league. Fair play to Levy on that one. Was great banter. He must be a very good negotiator.

Your last comment really nails it though. Levy hasn't give a flying **** about the fans for two decades...why would he start now?

Coutinho was our star player, had just signed a 5 year contract at 25 years old. Barca had just received 200m for Neymar. The transfer market was heavily inflated.

A fee like that wont happen in this covid market.
He wasn't really but you did very well marketing him as such. I do admire the way that Liverpool sell players. Unbelievable track record.

The whole no money in this post COVID market surely opens up clubs to offering cash plus players for these massive deals. Jesus + a fee is being touted. As is Martial + a fee. Don't think anyone will be able to stump up more than 80m but a player or two thrown in with it could sway Levy. You'd like to think a new manager is sorted before any decision is made on Kane though.

Best in the business. By far! Michael Edwards ex-Spurs. We've not just gone backwards in that department we've just stopped selling all together.

Chelsea are pretty good too at selling players.

Straight swap for Lingard.

As long as Kane doesn't end up at United, I can move on with my life. While United is a

City is ok, hard to take their ex-pat fans seriously as the club is basically a franchise, though, in their defence, most City fans understand where their success comes from (purchasing/salary power) as opposed to United fans who have deluded themselves into believing their success is culture.

City also seems to compensate appropriately.

A deal involving Gabriel Jesus + cash probably works.
