Staggering signing for PSG. Off the field this puts them right up there commercially. On the field its going to be interesting to see how it works.

Already a few that don't fancy defending, and as good as they might be going forward that could cost them in the latter stages of the Champions league.

But bloody hell, what a coup.

This is none of those things at all. Messi will go nowhere near bringing 1.2 million euros a week in financial benefit. He was preoared to play for half that amount in Barcelona which is telling.

Put simply Messi would have all of the biggest clubs in the world begging to sign him but the fact that only PSG could meet his demands of 1.2 million euros a week is also telling.

Also this sets a precedent for a new Mbappe contract. Good luck getting Mbappe to accept a new contract for less than what Messi now gets paid. He's already turned down 750k / week repeatedly.

Roughly translated as "I don't like PSG so it must be bad".

Do you disagree?

Nope, $1.2 million euros base per week is not justified at PSG for any player really. All commercial deals are already signed so no benefit there with Ligue 1 having limited commercial appeal. Worth noting that Messi can earn up to 85 million gross euros per season on his deal. They would have won Ligue 1 easily without him and they are now going to have Mbappe demanding the same deal for his new contract to give the best years of his career away playing in Ligue 1. The greed in the middle of a pandemic is also in poor taste.

Im glad my club never got involved in such a deal.

What a dud of a video.

They spent the first minute and 40 seconds showing the club shop and other images around the stadium and then Lionel Messi standing on the pitch like a ****ing idiot for about 4 seconds. I still can’t tell if that is really Lionel Messi because it looks like a promo image of Messi from FIFA.

Looked like they made it on an XBOX 360.
