We can afford to buy him

Would you want to match his current £120k per week contract given he is largely unproven relative to a lot of your players who would be on less money but proven more?

That should say can’t. We can’t afford 80m.

In terms of matching salary, we could afford it, and I don’t think it would have any bearing on how other players ‘feel’. Our third choice GK isn’t on much less, and Schulz is on a lot more.

He’s only unproven due to lack of minutes. The talent is obvious. I think he’d immediately be our best winger if he had been able to join

CHO really needs to start playing or his career will drift and he won't fulfil his potential. Keeping a winger/inside forward as a backup RWB is insane to me, especially given most Chelsea managers don't last long.

Selling him for say £40m with a £60-80m buy back sounds sensible to me.

Or afford his wages.

Agree he needs to be playing somewhere, though we also need him as our backup RWB.

He’s too good to be a backup - which is why I think he wasn’t loaned in the end. I reckon they think there’ll be a Prem club who will offer enough for a purchase on him, and Chelsea will find an actual backup level player

Said they wouldn’t let CHO come on loan cos they couldn’t sign a replacement - then sign a replacement an hour after the window closed. Kind of a kick in the dick for CHO and us tbh. Tuchel still hates us

Saul and CHO are not the same position lol

The best football CHO has played for us was as a RWB last season, it suits his skill set. With the amount of games we'll have this season hopefully he'll get a fair few minutes.

He doesnt want to be sold, though he was open to a loan.

The Saul deal looked dead when your window shut early.

Yeah that’s what killed us tbh - no idea why we close a day earlier. Must be a German thing with end of the month and being precise etc

There's a lot of talk about CHO but not much about Loftus-Cheek. How do you see him fitting into the picture at Chelsea?

I was hoping he'd end up at Lazio under Sarri again. I dont see where he fits in this team.

They help sure but they operate in a different area to the central three.
Recommend rewatching the Champions League final.

If Christensen isn't currently world class, he's incredibly close to it.
He's behind Silva and Rudiger for now.

I thought he played well for Fulham last season. He's a big unit and comfortable on the ball.

But I agree, I can't see RLC getting much of a game if he stays at Chelsea. It would be a shame if he sits on the bench all season.
