Rob Dorsett at Sky stating Villa "likely to accept".

Goes against everything the owners have said as far as their build goes. Goes against what he did at Milwaukee Bucks. Bloody disappointed. 3rd richest owners in the league and they appear to be selling.
The Bucks owners are cheap. They have never paid the luxury tax.

Hes a 50-60m pound player at best in this market. Not like he is a 20 year old gun like Sancho can potentially give 10 years of top class football and has room for development.

Take the money and run. Spend it wisely and go to the next level.

It's Jack Grealish.

For £100m.

It's ******* ridiculous tbh.
You would watch him play two games a year and would take Declan Rice ahead of him (coincidentally… the one Chelsea are linked with). Pretty laughable to be honest. Grealish is a wizard with the ball at his feet and has carried Villa on his back for years. Declan Rice lol.

Just find it laughable all these big club experts who would have limited knowledge of non big club players making profound statements about players they would very scarcely watch play.

Zidane coming in with the expert opinion takes the cake, with his astute valuations which are driven by nothing other than his own moronic biases - that being 1) everything Liverpool awesome, never wrong, 2) Everything Man City always bad, never right.

That’s almost entirely what this forum has become. People pretending to be experts and speaking in absolute language instead of being honest and tempered with their evaluations and own knowledge.

He isn't a 100m player but if someone wants to pay that amount good on them, big price tag to live up to.

Villa spend the money wisely they'll avoid relegation.

They can have Lingard for 25-100m.

players are worth as much as someone is willing to pay for them

Their output following said fee can go someway to determining the validity of that valuation though. And somehow I don't think Grealish will produce 100m pound worth football for City. Didn't you just sell Harrison to Leeds for 11m when he could have developed into a similar if not better player?

I think everyone on this board would watch a lot of football their own teams don't play in.
haha, I’m sure you have watched heaps of Villa over the last few years. You can pretend you have.

and i certainly don’t, who has the time.

What an absolutely simplistic way of looking at it. Value is based on needs to the club according to the requirements they need/seek a

Is a simple question that only needs a simple answer, if you dont have one, that is okay.

On Grealish. He is a marvel. He is one of a kind (style/type) and it has been an absolute joy to watch him at Villa and thankful that he has been loyal to Villa for as long as he has.

So much football is about pace and power these days but his elegance/grace and control with the ball at his feet can make even the most boring game bearable.

Have not even close to seen a better player at Villa and no matter what happens he won’t leave on bad terms with fans.

Before getting injured last season he was second favourite to win player of the year for those who are comically scoffing at his valuation and ability. But it really doesn’t matter. People will stick by their pre-conceptions because that’s just what they do..

Not sure anyone is denying he is a fantastic player, just debating whether or not he is a 100m player. He probably isn't, I'd say that's about 30m ish high but end of the day Villa don't have to sell and City can afford it.

i mean if he's being put in the same bracket as sancho contract lengths play a part too. grealish signed through to 2025 while sancho was 2023? and looking to move

Hey you don't have to justify it to me. It's a fantastic signing for City.

The guy who played almost every game for Leeds last season and was on loan from City? You never watched him play?

100m is a ridiculous amount of money but comparing him to Jack Harrison is going too far. Grealish can become one of the best players on the world at City.

Yes he has all the tools, I do wonder if he is first choice at City, surely at that amount.

Why is it too far? What's fundamentally flawed about Harrison that he couldn't become one of the best players in the world at City?

Point being that so many of these big clubs are fundamentally lazy in player development and would rather loan out/sell off their talent then buy ready made players at hiked up fees. Foden is almost the exception that proves the rule at City.
