Not budging could be to our detriment if a good enough offer is made. 100m plus a quality player or 150m and we are better off cashing in. I'd rather Laporte, Ings and Vlahovic to Dier, Kane and a 17 year old backup ST.

PM about the deleted comment. Sounds like I missed something
100m + Laporte would be the best outcome if we do cave in here

piss poor by Harry though. 3 years left on a contract he opted to sign.

That's pretty reasonable or 150m cash. If City are serious they'll pay it. Otherwise they should stop wasting Kane & Levy's time.

The conversations at the time of being offered a 6 year deal were sign on and we can grow and fight for titles

3 years on and we are miles behind of where we were when he signed it

Goal posts have moved

3 years ago there was no pandemic to hinder the club. Kane can't hold that against Spurs even if his new club runs on a bottomless pit of cash.

Goal posts have moved regardless of the pandemic.

And in fact the pandemic makes him more sellable.

Wouldn't you want to do what is best for your career?

If you signed a contract with your employer and they went in a direction you didn't like/weren't happy with, would you stick around?

I'd hope that my new employer values me enough to pay what my current employer wants to release me from my current contract. Spurs are entitled to ask for 150m and if Pep really loves him he pays that much. 100m is barely market value.

Until a realistic bid is forthcoming it is entirely reasonable to expect Kane to give his best considering he is getting paid 200k / week when many ordinary everyday people are unemployed during the pandemic.

It's basic haggling between buyer and seller. They were never offering the max bid first up.

Levy can put that to bed by saying he's not leaving until a bid of 150m is received. Leave it up to Pep/City.

Someone told me a player is worth what someone is willing to pay for them, so White is worth $50m.

Someone once told me that a transfer doesn’t remove £50M out of a £150M budget, it only removes £10M out of the budget if the player is on a 5 year contract.

So if a club says they have a £150M transfer budget, they can buy 5 players at £750M, all on 5 year contracts. True story.

I wonder who that might be...

My math goes, £200M for Mbappe on a 5 year contract, at £40M a season. Haaland for £200M on a 5 year contract, at £40M. Kane for £150M on a 5 year contract, at £30M. Neymar for £150M on a 5 year contract, at £30M. And £50M for Paul Pogba on a 5 year contract, at £10M. That would be your haul on a £150 summer transfer budget.

I seriously don’t think that’s how it work… 😂

Levy doesn't want to show that we are a selling club while Paratici is out making deals for new players to come in. He'd rather wait to receive the "too good to refuse" offer and then cave later

That makes sense. It would undermine negotiations for Paratici if it was publicly announced Kane was sold for 150m. Maybe it could be agreed in private & announced after incoming signings were done?

Yeah I don't think Levy or Kane are way off with each other today compared to 12 months ago when Levy persuaded Kane not to ask for a summer move. We are in a far worse place now than 12 months ago when they came to an understanding. Kane will be fit for City when they offer enough to get it done. We are stalling because we have them opening day & are trying to land some targets. He won't show up to training and will rack up fines which is more money in for the club + he wont be paid by us, these sort of fines are like losing a 5c to you or I. Especially with the signing bonus and double your money deal he is likely to get from City.

I'll be very shocked if Kane isn't a City player by the end of the month.

Someone told me a desperate man will pay well above what something is actually worth or what just about everyone else values that item at.

Old story I’m sure everyone’s heard. Seth Johnson was negotiating with Ridsdale on his move from Derby to Leeds. Johnson was on £5k a week at Derby and was hoping to get £13k a week from Leeds. Ridsdale opens with £30k. When he’s met with stunned silence he ups the offer to £37k a week. Johnson accepted.
