Apparently you guys and us are in for Pereira who West Brom want 30mil for..
Yeah we definitely won't be paying that so you'll probably outbid us. He wants European football though. We won't be signing Lingard now and WBA still owe us money for Diangana so I think something will get worked out eventually.

Interesting thing about Lukaku to Chelsea for me is the likely concession by them that Haaland next season isn't going to happen (much like us chasing Kane).

Not many more likely options for him, and only one in England.

SM DBAH0 and other Hull/West Ham fans - can you tell us a bit about Jarrod Bowen? It's looking likely that Liverpool will (or maybe already have) put in an offer. Superficially he seems to fit the profile of forwards we typically look for.

Makes sense. Haaland is probably off to Bayern or Real next year.

Dortmund apparently want 150m now to sell Haaland plus 40m to pay off Raiaola. Thats probably why Chelsea are pursuing Lukaku.

He's great with the ball at his feet, has good pace, doesn't mind getting stuck into the physical play. Pretty good tackling technique.

Nothing special in the aerial department however.

I think he'll be fine for you so long as other defenders cover him when he pushes up the pitch and they give him licence to use his passing abilities.

The only thing to be seen is if he can handle being a CB full time in a back 4 (if that's what's employed) in the PL.

He was never the central defender in our back 3 so he's still a bit unknown at this level of that's where he's asked to play.

I can’t imagine they are shelling out £50m for the Brighton version of White employed in Potters back 3 or as a DM. Potter misused his most valuable asset by the looks of things.

Arsenal will be paying for the marauding ball playing CB playmaker he was for Leeds in a back 4.

What?

How did he misuse him when White was behind 2 superior CBs who already had PL experience?

Bissouma is our most valuable asset. By a long way over White.

Given what we got for him it seems Potter created a 50 million pound asset.

Left footed RW, main attributes would be work rate, dribbling ability. Wouldn't say he's super pacey, would say more above average there. Loves to curl the ball in the far corner and come inside.

We played him as a striker for a bit when Antonio was injured and we sold Haller.

FWIW, I don't think we would sell unless we got say 40M plus at a minimum, think we signed him for 20M quid or so from memory.

Skilful, strong with the ball at feet, likes to cut inside his fullback and take shots. Can play anywhere across the front three essentially.

Yeah think it was 20 rising to 25 and I'd assume most of the clauses were met so call it 25m. Would hope you don't sell for less than 50!

He'll end up at Real imo.

A club was willing to break the transfer record for a championship player for him last year.

12 months later hes a 23 year old fully capped CB that goes for £50m despite playing DM for half the year and on a flank in a back 3 out of position (despite looking like a worldie in the center of a back 3 and 4 a few months before)

As I said, the fact you think you had 2 CB’s ahead of him and think Bissouma is a better says it all.

He’s a star and Potter made him look like a bog ordinary DM for half the season.

Brightons infatuation with Lewis Dunk (a far inferior player) cost you someone who may have been one of your ATG’s.

If he was made to look so ordinary why did he get sold for 50m?

Thanks both. Confirms my impressions. Our scouting team have made a bit of a habit of picking the eyes out of players like this who have all the attributes Klopp typically looks for, and are maybe just on the verge of making that step up (rather than going for the established superstar with years of world class performances under their belts - Thiago really the only signing in that mould and he came heavily discounted). It wouldn't surprise me if we were interested.

Looks like West Ham have their replacement lined up in Matheus Pereira from West Brom?

Because he looked like a superstar a season prior under a competent manager?

The performance of some of the Leeds players last season only franked that form given he along with Phillips looked like the best 2 players in that side.

So Arsenal paid 50m for someone because they looked good in the Championship 12 months ago?

Sorry don't buy it.

Nah you are right.

They paid £50m for a guy who was rated “below average” in 29 of his 36 games in the PL with most of them not being as a CB.

Not the fact he was the player of the season to a side who finished 9th the very next season.

Leeds offered £30m for him prior to him signing his new contract. England cap + the new contract gets you the additional £20m

Prefer Llorente tbh. I don’t have as high a view of White…nice player but weakness in the air and tackling could improve. Glad we spend the £30 and a bit on Llorente and Koch.

I think Pereira would be more a replacement for Lingard as the ACM in behind Antonio really since he's right footed. If Bowen went, we'd have to sign a left footer to replace him because Yarmolenko isn't up to it in the EPL.

For that reason, that's why we'd want a Ben White fee (yes it's in vogue) I think.

The arrogance of some Leeds fans is astounding.

There’s about 5 people in this thread who have watched enough of him in the last 2 years to actually make an informed comment.

Let’s just wait and see. I guarantee you he doesn’t look like an understudy of Lewis Dunk, Adam Webster, Dan Burn and Joel Veltman in a few months...

I don't care. He won't stop Arsenal being a complete shambles in any case.

You simultaneously shat on Potter and pumped up your own manager for no reason.

A superstar in the championship? Nobody gives a ****, especially not Arsenal. Phil Jones on one leg would bitch that league.

Yes it says you have no ******* idea what you're talking about my man.

That you think he was playing DM "half the year" shows you didn't watch fu** all Brighton games. He might have played there once or twice in a whole season :drunk:

Well done on making yourself look like a clueless clown though.

Brighton's infatuation with a top class CB who has played a huge part in keeping us up. Yeah how silly of us.

Hey genius, that player of the season vote was rigged by dead shit Leeds fans. How do you not know that?

Bissouma was the Brighton fans POTS by a long way, Dunk second.

Again with the he played as a DM rubbish

He played almost the entire season on the right side of a back 3. Dunk is a superior middle of defence player which is why he played in the central role.

Far superior in the air and as a blocker.

You think he played as a DM for half a season, you haven't watched him at all. Stop pretending you have.
