Its effectively co-ownership, and is not that much different to a team buying a player and then loaning them back to the original club to keep playing/developing in most cases

I'm just amazed at how often smaller clubs will willingly loan their best players to larger clubs in 'try before you buy' type arrangements. Not only do they lose the talent who they then have to immediately replace, but they don't actually see any significant money for the player for years until these 'obligation to buy' clauses are triggered. It's just not seen in the other major leagues and seems heavily weighted in favour of the bigger sides.

Best defence in the league is a pretty big claim considering they weren’t close to it last season. Some pretty dismissive comments about Chelsea in here as well.
We have added a world class centre half to the team. 3 out of our 4 defenders are elite players. The other is elite defensively. We still need a DM to help protect them but that should be happening before the window closes.

As a back 4 I only see City's as comparable.

It's interesting you don't know the amount but you know what's it's not.
I thought you might like to do some research yourself.

21 Pep signings have played a premier league game for us and we've signed 34 players for a fee since Pep arrived. This is his 11th window in charge.

According to transfermrkt we've paid £818m+ on new signings since Pep arrived. According to Dortmunds gobshite Watzke we've spend less than €1bn(£870m). According to soccerbase it's less than £800m.

Don't recall us paying a fee for a staff member.

All of which is a fair bit short of the £2bn plus you've been droning on about for weeks.

Please don’t disappear when it all goes **** up again.

Hint: Try searching £2.1 billion pep

Ha ha, so our £2.1 bn squad includes wages paid to players, footballing and non-footballing staff over the past 6 years.

Chiesa wanted to leave only wanted to go to Juventus and only had a year left on his contract iirc. I think he had to sign another year with Fiorentina for the deal to go through. In the end the they accepted at deal that gets the the most money all up in a way that’s convenient for Juve.

And we got there in the end
We did, LOL. An utterly pointless made up stat where the majority of clubs in the league will be over a billion in the same period. Solsjkaer wouldn't be far off a billion in the last two years.

Need to bring in #jod23 and #cruyff14 to get a list of world class defenders
No we don’t.

It will start out alright but then like old men on a porch in a rocking chair it will divert to Gerrard and Henry and they’ll look at you and ask ‘sorry what was the question again?’
