Out of your back four, only Varane has won anything of note and you only just signed him yesterday. I dont think AWB or Shaw are average. AWB poor going forward, excellent defensively. Shaw is a very good LB, just not on Robbo's level. Maguire I do think is average.

And yes Varane has won 4 UCL's but he's still unproven in England much like Konate. For what it's worth I dont even think Konate is our best option to partner VVD, that belongs to Joel Matip.

I just feel pace is such a massive thing in the PL. Also being able to be quite nimble and quick on your feet. These are attributes that Maguire lacks. Matip, Gomez, VVD all super quick, the latter two particularly so. Having Maguire at the back would give me heart palpitations.

Maguire was very good last season and the defense collapsed when he was injured for a long period. Everyone has their opinions about certain players. I think the top 4 in England will all have solid back 4’s, that will be hard to unlock if they are all fit and available. Should be a great league race this season.

That's coaching mate. You lost Maguire and went to water. We lost someone levels above him and then two more of our best CB's and still conceded less than you. We were playing Henderson, Fabinho, Phillips, Rhys Williams, Kabak at CB. Conceded less.

Yes you signed Varane, rejoice, but that doesnt suddenly mean you have the best defence in the world.

AWB is a better defender than TAA imo. TAA much better going forward. Shaw and Robertson is breakeven for me. Shaw better last season but Robertson better over his career.

I hope VVD gets back to his best but there is no guarantee of that after an ACL and that much time out of the game. Varane and Maguire are better than your CB's ex in form VVD.

What United really need now is a DM like Fabinho/Fernandinho/Kante to protect them. That is the difference in the goals conceded stats for me.

It's like you dont even watch football. We were actually pretty good first half of the season and were top at Christmas. Came crashing down quickly with a poor run of results where we lost 5 on the trot. Then recovered to win 8 of our last 10 and finish 3rd.

And yes absolutely coaching. Klopp did an amazing job last season.

No it's not. My opinion is just that, mine. It's impossible for it to be outdated as it's an opinion.

Also I dont know when Maguire got quicker and improved his turning circle. I think he has improved since United bought him but has glaring weaknesses and not the greatest of football brains. Again im just saying he is average, he's not shit, he's serviceable and does a job but he's certainly not elite.

Yes Varane is unproven in the PL. Which is what I said. He has never played in the PL. So that's correct. Varane has been hot and cold the last couple of years. Absolute quality when at the top of his game though.

And yes I would not trade Maguire for Gomez or Matip. His weaknesses wouldnt play well in our set up with the high line and pressing game we play. You absolutely need pace at the back to play for Liverpool. United sit far deeper and play on the counter and that can mask Maguire's short comings.

I agree AWB is a better defender but not an overall better RB. AWB is class if it was 1995 but the full back position has evolved and his ability going forward is so limited. Shaw needs more credits in the bank before you can call it breaking even with Robbo who's been the best LB in the league for about three years now. Despite our up and down season last season, he was probably the only bloke with Salah who kept up his excellent levels.

Agree you need a DM to better shield them. Could do with a decent GK too as DDG is cooked and Henderson is ok at best. Levels from a bloke like Ali.
