He doesn’t overly excite me. I don’t even think we need a CB tbh. Rudi, AC, Silva and Zouma is plenty. Dave and Reece can play RCB if we continue with three at the back. Is he good enough to start? If so whose spot is he taking?

CB wasn't top of my list too, but hes pretty good and easily good enough to start

Zouma isn't good enough and is off and Silva is 36 and can't play every week.

I think he'll be Azpis successor at RCB or in the middle of the 3.

As long as there are no significant injuries to the best 16 or so players then I'd be ok with going in with what we currently have. I reckon Curtis Jones can suitably fill Gini's role.
However if you offered me either Chiesa, De Bruyne, Lewandowski, kante or Mbappe I wouldn't say no

I think you're missing the point I'm making. I'm not questioning the existence of the clause I'm questioning the timing of the reports given they were in the media over a month ago. The timing can't be linked to the clause surely as no clause would activate on the 1 August you wouldn't have thought.
