Just a loan for a season to keep Gilmours/Gallaghers spot warm. It'd be fine with that.
I dont get why he'd want to be our 4th CM though.

I could see it if it was a permanent move that came with a pay rise, but on loan I don't understand it either. Maybe he just really wants to not play LM and would prefer to play 20 games at CM off the bench than 35 games at a bunch of different positions

Isn't he already on big money that's why you are trying to move him on?
Also why it's proving a bit difficult and you are happy to loan him out.

I'm still not entirely sure what the story is.
He is on a fairly big contract (somewhere around €200k/week) but until these stories about him potentially going on loan to Chelsea, most of the rumours seemed to be coming from his agent, not the club (or even the player really). I don't think the club wants to get rid of him, in part because its rare to have an academy player that love his club so much that he'd sign a 9 year contract, but it is somewhat hard to justify paying someone that salary when he isn't a nailed on starter
