We've already got Jorginho, Kante, Kovacic and Saul plus Gallagher and Gilmour out on loan. Agree. We arent spending £100m on another CM.

I'm always curious about this. Is it because he's not playing for a Champions League club already?

I mean he's playing ahead of the likes of Henderson for England currently.

I understand that say Jorginho has been great, and you have Kante, but I feel like Rice is better than say the likes of Kovacic etc. still.

TBH, the pitch invader wasn’t in a United shirt and Bellamy did end up slapping the guy. My favorite pitch invader/player clash was when Peter Schmeichel literally threw a Galatasray supporter off the pitch lol.

If he’s behind Kante and Jorginho, it’s likely he won’t start. £100m is a lot for a squad player. If you’re forking out that cash you’d want it to be for a regular starter.

Depends on your formation if you play 3 CM's I guess, still think he's good enough to rotate with those 2 in any case.

I actually think he's turning more into a box to box #8 than just say a DM also.

But we keep him into next summer and see what happens after that I guess.

We don’t play with three CMs and I don’t feel like that will change. Tuchel has built a squad to continue playing the same/similar formation. We also have Saul and Kovacic who can rotate with them. Adding Rice would be an unnecessary luxury.

If we’re heading down that path I’d personally rather go for the cheaper option in Bissouma. Half the price and he’s looked like a world beater this season. Lots of other options in Europe as well who won’t cost £100m. Rice’s mate in midfield isn’t bad either.

I like Rice but for us I think he's not good enough defensively to play the defensive role, not good enough attacking wise to play an attacking role. He does a bit of everything well, but isn't a great fit for us.

I do think United is probably the best move for him (presuming he does move).

Im a big Rice fan and would happily sign him but hes not better than Kante or Tuchel/Italy version of Jorginho.
