You can mention my name mate, I won't bite. :)

If he's worth the same this summer as Rice, then Rice is even more the better option. The only thing going for Bellingham at this stage is his age and cheaper price tag.
Ha! I didn't know it was you as I read the initial bit over breakfast and logged on again when I got to the office to see pages of bickering. I was more talking about Uniteds opinion than my own. If we had £300m to spend then we'd by both this summer and a striker and be set....but we don't.

We need Rice more and a lot of our good youth midfielders ex Garner play as 8s rather than 6s.

Haha apologies then thought it was intentional.

Fair enough, but yeah surely Rice is worth more than Bellingham this coming summer? Agree over time their valuation comes closer together. I'd still like to see Bellingham do it in the PL before I think he's worth quite as much as Rice, who is doing it in the league he would be playing for you in.

Defo not intentional.

In a world where West Ham owned both I'd agree but BVB certainly get there pound of flesh when they sell players, particularly when they don't have to.

If Bellingham had 2 years left on his deal I could see them parting with him for £80m maybe (assuming he continues to play well).

Not sure, he'd be up there. Rodri, Fab, Rice... I think Rice is a mixture of Fab and Hendo from a Liverpool perspective so that's why I'd prefer us go after Bellingham but Rice has the runs on the board in the PL.
Yeah I dunno, Rice can do both box to box and a deep sitting DM, is adapted to the league already and plus he is such a great leader. He'd fit in anywhere in your team. Bellingham is still a huge gamble coming back to the Prem.

Nah mate, not if he is linked with Liverpool. Don't you know that's how it works?

United could certainly do with his leadership and I think he will end up at United. Whoever buys him is getting a 10 year club captain.

Rice certainly does both. Rice would be great for Liverpool too. The problem with our midfield is that we probably need both. Henderson does what Rice does now for us albeit not as talented. Hendo gets the absolute maximum out of himself which is great but Rice is more naturally gifted. But Hendo is now pushing into the twilight of his career as he turns 32 later this year.

Thiago is class but not the future given his age. Fabinho can lock the DM spot down for years to come and the jury is still out on Naby Keita and whether we give him another contract. So really we are kinda in the market for a progressive midfielder like Bellingham and a box to box like Rice. Obviously we wouldnt be able to get both.

I think Bellingham isnt a huge gamble, he's been so impressive in Germany, but then the same can be said of Sancho, but IMO that is more situational than a talent problem. I think if Sancho was at City or Liverpool he would be excelling. United is just a big cluster**** at the moment.

Would love either, but given we have Fabinho and Rice whilst opening up more and getting away from just a DM, I consider that to still be his strongest position, I think the more progressive and creative midfielder in Bellingham would be a better fit for Liverpool. Helps that Bellingham is 5 years Rice's junior too.

Yeah hes a beauty. I think he'll stay for one more season, just can't see anyone affording what Hammers would want. But summer 2023 with only one year left on his contract all the big clubs will be trying to woo him.

Bellingham for me is already a more complete player. 18 too. If he is 70m or so and Rice is 100m plus its Bellingham easily for me. Rice is no Gerrard and thats the sort of player I would wanting to be paying £100m plus for who plays deep in midfield. It almost sounds like West Ham want to create interest to get a big fee for their player.

Truth be told Tchoumanei is my favoured signing in midfield. Compares favourably with both and going for between 30-40m. Young player in Ligue 1 is ideal preparation for PL.
Monaco want €80m for Tchouaméni.

Bellingham has the potential to be a very good all round midfield player. He's shown glimpses - like in the Champs League game against City last season. Other games not so great. I don't think it would be a gamble for a club to bring him into the Premier League. But 70m is OTT for an 18 yo midfielder based on potential. 40m to 50m is probably more realistic.

Whereas Rice has consistently proved himself to be the best defensive mid in the Premier League and has shown he can push forward effectively. The prices get a bit silly for the best players. If Jack is worth 100m why not Declan?

Grealish for 100m was also madness. Combination of oil money & English tax.

Bellingham will be 20 by the time BVB entertain selling him and they can dictate the price.

Sancho, Haaland and Bellingham sold in successive years. Running a club like that and pocketing the cash would be a Glazers/Kroenke/Levy dream
The thing is they're still able to make Champs League and do well because they're in the Bundesfarmer. So fans don't care as much as United fans who are starved of success

Glazer/Kroenke/Levy don't care about the fans

You gotta remember that Rice has 5 years of development on Bellingham. But right now Rice should be valued higher than Bellingham but both will come with ridiculous english tax.

Incredible that people think that Bellingham will go for less than 150m
