Bellingham could very well be the next Gerrard which would see plenty of goals & assists racked up from #8 position. That's the sort of midfielder you would want to be buying for 150m.

He’s not really like Gerrard at all and hasn’t been played further forward than central midfield to date.

He’s a #8/#6

Not a #8/#10

You do realise where Gerrard was mostly playing when he was 19/20 years old right?

Yes, but you were making the comparison with prime Gerrard. Just because he managed to turn into a double-digit goal scoring attacking midfielder doesn't mean Bellingham will, he's not that type of player and probably never will be.

What comparison? I said that Bellingham could be worth 150m in 2-3 years time if he signs a new long term deal at Dortmund and keeps developing. Bellingham definitely could be an attacking #8 for sure.

You said only midfielders that rack up crazy goals and assists are worth that amount and that he might be the next Gerrard (I assume you mean the Gerrard that racked up crazy goals and assists as an attacking midfielder rather than 18 year old Gerrard playing as an #8).

He needs to basically change his entire playing style to become that sort of player, I'm not banking on it.

Even Gerrard was only scoring 3-6 goals a year as a bonafide #8 until he moved further forward.

The players to put out those sort of numbers since Gerrard are limited to the likes of Hazard, Silva, Febregas, Lampard and De Bruyne.

I don't see him much like those players, he's more Xabi Alonso than Gerrard if we are talking about players of that era.

As I said, it's early days. He already has played a fair few games for Dortmund at AMF and impressed. I doubt we make a play for him this summer. Will be summer 23 or even summer 24 if we have a crack and only if there's a buyout clause if Bellingham signs a new extended contract beyond 2025.

I don't think you have a chance tbh. Your owners are too tight.

Sadiio / Firmino will be the ones most likely to be sold this summer.

Nah mate Mane is great and will get a big new contract.

He is great, player of tournament in AFCON. Will take a big bid to part ways with him in the summer. He'll be offered a new contract, just not anywhere near as much as Salah.

If we base Bellingham's worth based on Sancho's output since his return to the EPL then his fee should be nowhere near 150m or even 100m.

His output is what it is based upon who signed him and how they’ve used him

Sure are taking a while offering him a new deal, while signing his replacement..

Psg is a good fit but why would they pay much when he's free the following season

Salah has no interest in PSG, not at least until he is 35/36. Sees himself at the very top for the next 3-4 years. The very same reason why Mbappe has no interest in signing a new deal there.

£150m is a lot of money but world record fees have been spent on Zidane, Figo, Kaka and Pogba in the past. Not out of the equation that a midfielder could cost £150m over the next 5 years.
Fair but how young were the four you mentioned when they commanded those types of fee's? Most were in their prime were they not? Bellingham is just a kid. I think somewhere around 80-100 gets it done. 150 is a pipe dream IMO.
