Fair but how young were the four you mentioned when they commanded those types of fee's? Most were in their prime were they not? Bellingham is just a kid. I think somewhere around 80-100 gets it done. 150 is a pipe dream IMO.

A kid that was bought for like 30m quid when he was bout 16..

You said only midfielders that rack up crazy goals and assists are worth that amount and that he might be the next Gerrard (I assume you mean the Gerrard that racked up crazy goals and assists as an attacking midfielder rather than 18 year old Gerrard playing as an #8).

He needs to basically change his entire playing style to become that sort of player, I'm not banking on it.

Even Gerrard was only scoring 3-6 goals a year as a bonafide #8 until he moved further forward.

The players to put out those sort of numbers since Gerrard are limited to the likes of Hazard, Silva, Febregas, Lampard and De Bruyne.

I don't see him much like those players, he's more Xabi Alonso than Gerrard if we are talking about players of that era.

Players of the ilk of Gerrard, Rice, Lampard, Keane, De Bruyne could probably play in any position. The goals they score depends on what is asked of them.

Gerrard started his career on the wing. Houlier mostly played him as a defensive mid with a license to go forward. Benitez moved him into attacking mid, which is when he got most of his goals. Towards the end of his career he switched to the deep playmaker role. He was pretty much carrying the team on his shoulders back then but a lot of his goals came from penalties.

Rice has shown he could get more goals if allowed to push forward.

Bellingham is only 18 yo. He looks to have the talent to play any midfield role required of him. And seems to have a good head on his shoulders. I'm looking forward to seeing how he develops.

Looks like Akanji to UTD in the €30m region is starting to look likely.

Good business from both clubs.

I don't think it's likely, nothing really from United's side on this, seems we're just being linked at this stage, will await something more solid.

Oh why has the power cube ended up there?

He was a handy player for us less than 12 months ago? Surely he is still young and good enough to be playing in Europe?

Strange one. Believe we have a 20% sell on fee.

I wonder where the MLS would rank, all the good youngsters leave but they still get some pretty good players even if most are past their prime.

These days they get players who are still in their prime, and there's good young players playing there.
